Huh, with the new video player I see criss cross lines at the edges of solid objects. It's hard to describe but everything looks smudged at set intervals...

Can anyone tell me what size of TV Brad is playing on? Looks ideal for me.....I thought It was 32 invh tvs they had but this looks slightly smaller than a 32

They have a PC, it just needs a better graphics card, which I'm sure they'll sort out soon enough.

Yeah, but also back then it wasn't as fully fleshed out as it is now, so...

Though I still think it's a shame to see Brad get the Minecraft bug only now with the 360 version. To be fair though I would have rather done all of my building being comfortable instead of being uncomfortable in my set up here!

I do find it slightly weird that both Brad and Jeff appear to have now "got" Minecraft, but when it was on the PC they weren't as interested (or at least, didn't show their interest).

Great to see that the staffers are indeed human beings who can succumb to the lure of minecraft ;) even if it lasts only a few days till the initial magic wears off or the projects evolve to a point where they hit the rather extreme limitatons of the XBLA port.

Core i7 860, 8gb of memory, and a Radeon 58-something... I think it's a 5850. It's an old machine we borrowed from GameSpot, we're looking into getting something better (though personally I think a video card upgrade alone would be enough to get that machine more or less ship-shape).

I think you mean "monocle". I'm not sure how that's relevant though. This has nothing to do with elitism (I'm guessing that's what you were going for). It's a simple fact that Minecraft just like the Elder Scrolls games or, as mentioned in this Quick Look, Starcraft are far better PC games. The first ones because of their moddability and the last one because of better controls and higher resolution that let's you see more than 3 SCVs at the same time. I'm not a console OR PC fanboy, hence my grayed-out nickname.

Incidentally I'm not even much of a Minecraft fan either.

Yeah just buying a better graphics card is a sound alternative, since the cpu is a decent quad core, it wont be crippling the new graphics card, ( cept a few expections like a late game in civ 5 where a new ivy/sandy bridge would let a high end graphics card pump out almost twice as many frames as if it was paired with the i7 860 )

Otherwise, i think i remember hearing on the tested podcast that its about time for them make a new "how to build a pc" video

would be perfect if you guys could have @willsmith make giantbomb an insane ivy bridge/kepler machine in the process.

yeah no pc's to play risen is a bit worrying, hopefully they have pc problems sorted by like tomorrow as diablo 3 is approaching next week and i'm looking forward to the giantbomb coverage of it
