Why does he have to murder so many goddamn people? This has gotten so far afield of the concept of 'assassination' it's ridiculous. Maybe Historical Super-Meele Warrior's Creed just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I played AC2 and Brotherhood punching out guards as often as possible. For the most part, they're just random shmucks doing their jobs, they didn't deserve to die.

Cuts to Conner killing more British soldiers.

So It's okay to kill Italians* but when it comes to British is a no-no what?

* No Italians were harmed during AC2

Italians killing Italians is probably okay. American guy slaughtering Brits and only Brits (or vice versa, of course) is probably not.

I'm not opposed to a game where a guy plays a pivotal role in a historical conflict, but if the countries involved are now allies, you shouldn't really rub their noses in the whole "we killed a bunch of your dudes" thing. These trailers are not really discouraging that impression.

But we have had many games where the hero from X nation kills villians from Y nation why is this just a problem now? and who's rubbing what in who's noses? Ubisoft? "the all american developer"...

Sure looks like their sidestepping the whole. Native American Genocide thing.

Pity. Seems like a lazy, offensive way to sidestep an otherwise interesting plot point of him overcoming hate of his own / torn allegiances. But I guess there was no portrayal of racism in the other settings, so why not "white wash" this as well.

Wouldn't have been as romantic.

Chill, the game isn't out yet. This is just a trailer meant to build hype for the masses. Hopefully it will touch on the subject, the game will be tens of hours long, and this is just six minutes.

Too many people freaking out about the proportion of Brits being killed to Americans. It's not like it's the first Resident Evil 5 trailer all over again - relax.

"Ninja in a tank, with a wolverine in there"?

Was that an Assassins Creed 4 spoiler?

The amount this is catering to 11 year-olds is a bit nauseating.

"one of the most anticipated games in gaming history"? I'm sure it'll be good, maybe great, but lets not over sell it Ubisoft

If someone hasn't done a montage of Connor stabbing dudes from these trailers I'm disappointed.

No really guys, he's fighting the Templars, there are just all these squishy redcoat fodder in the way.

I get this is a tonal shift from the European setting but it seems this couldn't be more America Fuck Yeah unless Washington had an eagle on one shoulder and the Colonial flag draped over the over.

Yeah, that does make me nervous for the final product, fingers crossed it's just to build up interest in the American market?

I think the founding fathers are incredible (especially Washington), but if this game has a straight 'America Fuck Yeah' tone to it, it'll ignore the interesting quirks of the conflict, like how these relatively wealthy guys with egalitarian ideals wanted to create a republic while still owning slaves etc. Maybe I'm hoping for too much, but I'd love to see the game do that fascinating period of history justice by taking advantage of the varied motivations and interests behind the revolution. 'Nothing is real. Everything is permitted.' etc

I suspect a lot of the marketing stuff we've seen as been targeted at the American audiences and I don't blame them, smart move. When they announced the game they talked about Conner facing Templars on both sides, and I have faith in Corey May as a writer to show some respect in the story (and Conner is half British, well least he use to be. All they say now is that he's half Native American/half European.) The Assassin's Creed team have always shown some respect to historical detail so I have faith in them. Marketing material is marketing material.

I'm British and I'm bored of the people getting all upset about killing British solders. As long as there's some balance between the way the stories told of both sides I'm happy.

Clearly it would be silly to portray these historical figures as one of those fancy "history books" would... Instead, let's get the opinion of a "Son of the American Revolution" who refers to them as the "the equivalent of the modern day badass" and an ex-navy seal, who shockingly admits that George Washington was fighting for something called "freedom". Experts who have degrees and write books are so boring and un-badass...

I know this is just marketing, but really?

I will give them points for having Native Americans actually speak a native language though.

Mel Gibson would probably approve.

world looks beautiful and the game seems like fun, but i do hope u can plan your assasinations ala Hitman..

That's the only thing i hate about AC games, that the assasinations themselves are quite repetitive, & the reason i have not touched AC game since II, but this i'll get. Just for the cool free roam.

Um... is it a liiiitle far fetched to call this one of the most anticipated games in history? I mean, I just played Assassin's Creed last year, I'm not exactly foaming at the mouth to play it again.

All I want from this game is a cut-scene in which you receive a mission from Ben Franklin while he's going down on a bunch of whores.
