Can't wait to watch this. Fantastic!

I want more of this, this has been worth the watch. Jeff is always interesting to listen to.

What's the best way to submit questions to "Jar Time with Jeff?" Here in the comments?

This is awesome. Best feature for subscribers yet!

@MSUSteve: He takes questions from his vyou account, or at least he used to. You could try there. vyou.com/jeffg

So this is just Jeff's Vyou page?

More or less. They're just charging for it now.

I guess it's ok he didn't have to do Vyou in the first place.

Jeff really hated Vyou. Can't blame him you can't "Delete All," and the site is still spotty a lot.

Is Jeff a hoarder? or is his room just really messy?

Posted by wfolse1

Very cool video. Interestingly personal for Giant Bomb. Hope to see some more. Also, dude who sits in his dorm all the time, please do something. When the grown up world hits you, you'll wish like mad you could relive those days.

Posted by Agent47

@ZombiePie: When did he say that?On a bombcast? If so which one?I imagine he got bombarded with thousands of questions and decided to drop it.

That was what I was saying. You can't be mad if he does not do it anymore, because he didn't have to do it in the first place.

BRING BACK THE POINTS REPORT!

Posted by MSUSteve

@KarlPilkington: Ah, ok. Haven't gotten to the end yet. Thanks Karl.

Posted by cap123

That was great, it got deep but i kind of liked that. A different side of a guy i've watched over the years and a cool insight into how he ticks.

Posted by Mordi

Nice. I used to visit VYou every now and then, which Jeff used to answer random questions for a while.

I'd like to see a Jar Time from each member of the staff, at least once. I wanna ask Brad how he feels about "Pullin' a Brad"

Edited by selfconfessedcynic

Man, I don't know how I feel about drinking from a jar.

It's pretty much only ok if the beverage is something homebrew.

ED: After watching this, I have to say this is a really cool segment. Nice stuff, Jeff.

As someone who did Community Management for a while I can say that the job entirely depends on the product you're working on. I worked on two different games within the same company on the roles were almost entirely different. The first one was pretty much pure community management, posting on forums and facebook and just talking to users and answering questions. The second was much better, Not only did I do the stuff above I also had run competitions (coming up with the ideas, implementing it and loads of other things), I had a huge say in the features added to the game and any sort of changes being made to it, a weekly meeting where my opinion mattered and I made decisions worth hundreds of thousands of dollars at points. There was so much more to that job than just Community Management and I loved it. Unfortunately I lost my job when the Community Management team moved from "Player Support" over to "Marketing" and the restructuring that took place removed me.

I enjoyed the first position well enough and would certainly do it again (in fact I'm looking for a job in Community Management at the moment), but the second had so much additional things that made is so much more awesome, I'd love to get that job back but unfortunately that's not possible.

Oddly enough this is my first comment...I think ever. I really like this "fireside chat" setup. Keep them coming. The reason I go to giantbomb is for personality.

This is really great stuff, reminds me of the strange yet intriguing pre-bomb days

Are the questions from his vyou? I asked a few questions a while ago but he stopped answering just after I asked them.

Agreed, I can't really recall seeing the other guys by themselves, aside from Brad's video blog while reviewing Starcraft 2.  Would be interesting, to say the least.

The [PREMIUM] text is kinda weird. Maybe put a Premium Member ribbon across the middle of the video thumbnail instead.

Looking forward to the Jeff Gerstmann Hall of Fame, but I hope it's not just Jeff sitting in his chair in front of the computer talking about each game. Don't get me wrong - I'm sure that would still be interesting and entertaining - but it'd be nice if a little more production went into it. Something a little bit more like TANG or Besties would be nice for the Hall of Fame; but maybe that's asking for too much. Let's just say, a well produced segment like that would certainly help me feel like I was getting my money's worth out of my subscription, but I'm still pretty happy with it anyway.

This is good stuff. I do fear that the stack of stuff on his mantle is gonna take a tumble. It's being held up by a bomberman. Not a safe building material.

Points!

Posted by Max_Hydrogen

FUCKING AWESOME! This reminds me of his videos on GS. This is the kind "behind the scenes/personal" stuff subscribers were asking for.

It's o.k. if the answers weren't brief, in fact, that makes it better. "...make you forget about work or your personal failings as man..." Priceless! It's funny 'cause it's true.

I'm looking forward to more of these.

Last time I saw one of These was the points report on gamespot

Very cool, I hope this becomes a regular feature!

Who was the bloke that looked at him from the doorway behind him? He popped his head around the corner and then vanished?

Posted by shodan2020

Blake Stone shareware days were good times. I thought I was the only one who remembered and loved that first Blake Stone game. The second one was ok, maybe a little tired, but pretty good. Also, ROTT. :)

Posted by Kyle

Fucking love this. This exactly what I want!

Posted by JohnPaulVann

I want to watch this, but not enough to become a paid member. You're gonna have to step it up, Jeff, if you want my money.

Posted by Spence_5060

I actually really like this kind of of video stuff. Great...awesome...keep it up.

Posted by shodan2020

I love this sort of content, and I can't wait for Jeff Gerstmann's Game Hall of Fame.
