I will pronounce after I play it. I did not like it when I saw the demo, but even if the flip isn't as deep as the Grand canyon, perhaps it will say something I understand.

I found the very first portion of the demo to be a super interesting experiment: seeing if an environmental cue could entice players to role-play (the ticket counter, the waiting room; later revisited in the 'dance' scene). But, like you, I agree that all the demo criticism fell pretty flat; most of it was comedic gold, but it was not particularly insightful or interesting.

I'm just hoping it's gonna be more fleshed out than the HL2 mod, I'd hate it to be another Gone Home disappointment.

I thought the demo was cool but I wasn't blown away like some people were. It was very clever and in a few spots quite funny but Ill probably wait for a sale to pick it up

Honestly, I thought that demo was a vacuous slew of cheap call outs and faux-intellectualism posing as some kind of commentary on games themselves.

But this trailer, like the others, is intriguing enough to keep me hoping that there's actually something of substance in the main game. I love the style, at least. Fingers crossed!

@parabolee: The demo is a meta commentary on demos. As far as I can see, almost nothing from the demo will be in the game. Definitely give it a spin.

A meditation on video games as mind control. A lot of humor in the demo fell flat for me, but the concept is very exciting.

Is the demo different from the game? Should I play that before the game? Or jump right in?

I loved the demo when Patrick played it. I don't know what it is, but this seems incredible! :-)
