Crikey, my next door neighbour was the language expert in that clip.

I thought Cara's accent was extremely Scottish - she sounds almost exactly like Dr Who's Karen Gillan (who's from Inverness) to me. I'd never have placed Cara as from Aberdeen, Aberdonian accents are normally a bit harsher.

Anyway, great show. Having guests seems like a great idea.

Cara doesn't live near NYC anymore, and Tina's over at Mashable (maybe out of games writing entirely?) but man, there was a time where we thought these "bring random NYC adjacent friends in the gaming industry over to stream at the GBEast offices!" streams would be a regular thing. (A lot of people also wanted Tina and/or Cara for the new hire position)

Of course, in terms of permanent people we had Austin for a bit, and now we have Dan, but it was real dire for a bit there. Still is, in many ways.

I think Austin joined in early-ish 2015 and left in the summer of 2016 (with 2 GB E3's and one GB GOTY under his belt, presumably). This video was posted in July of 2014.

Think about how long it took for GBEast to get set up in their studio/move studios/start a podcast/actually get a new hire. Between getting new equipment, moving offices, getting Austin, losing Austin, gaining Dan...Vinny and Drew weren't kidding on various recent podcast appearances when they said that GB is always in a state of flux, and that its ability to adapt is what makes it a great site. But also, that sounds incredibly stressful and maybe GBEast and GBWest could be at full power just for once?

As Jeff said, Giant Bomb isn't a shitty startup anymore. They should be able to have people get sick or go on vacation without bringing the entire site to a grinding halt every damn time.
