Really? Mario Kart is going the way of Sonic for me.

A veritable cornucopia of hell yesses. This MK looks a bit faster than prequels on the Wii and Gamecube, but this could be my imagination. Regardless, I'm excited and chalking this up as one of five games I always require to be considered worth buying prior to investing in a new console / PC upgrade. Ocarina of Time's another. C'mon Nintendo, 3 more till shutting up and taking my monies.

But I already bought this game, Twice. For Wii and DS lite.

And it looks like...much of the same.

Which is great for fans, I guess :P

Meh, my favorite Mario Kart was the SNES one. I played the DS one too for, like, 1 week, then completely forgot about it...

Don't mistake me, it is a good looking and fun game. But simply not for me..

hey nintendo. stop making the same 5 games over and over and over and over again. or just re-releasing re-released versions of games that were re-released 5-12 years ago (animal crossing, zelda, starfox etc) you need to evolve.

I'm personally a little surprised at how different it looks. I figured we'd be looking at another re-texturing of Mariokart64/DD/DS. I'll be the first to talk mess about a lot of Nintendo's properties (Kid Icarus? Duder please) but not MarioKart - 'cause it still looks fun as fun.

...don't get me wrong though, I still ain't touchin' the 3DS with a ten foot pole.

Mario Kart DS was my favorite DS game easily. I hope this one will be equally amazing and not all lazy and stupid like the Wii game.

Man, you guys have really been suckered in by all the 3DS negativity in the gaming press. This is Mario Kart, no matter whether it's similar to the last one, it wouldn't be Mario Kart if it was that wildly different. Mario Kart DS was one of the best portable games ever (in my opinion), and I had some of my best multiplayer experiences playing it over local wireless. This does look a bit like Mario Kart DS, but credit to Nintendo they're trying to shake the formula up a little with some of the new features. I'm going to be getting this for sure, because I know it's going to be a great game.

I hope it has download play, one of the main reason I loved my DS is that I could play some games with my friends without them also needing a copy. Some of them, like Bleach2nd, barely had any negatives with doing it this way. You could still play every character for instance.

I played SNES Mario Kart when it was new... Nintendo isn't even trying anymore. Their stock plunging is fully justified.

yeah, I built my own mario kart racing seat, it cost me like 4 grand but it was worth it

I really don't understand mario kart on a handheld. For me most of the experience of mario kart is sitting down with friends and playing some splitscreen.

All that to say, meh... i'm done with mario kart

Each new iteration of Mario Kart is better than the last. It is the quintessential local multiplayer franchise and the best choice for any party.

Has GB always been so cynical? MK could use change, but it's still a fun series that manages to feel different between iterations. People are acting like it's freaking Animal Crossing.
