Metroid: Other M Trailer

Dumb name but hopefully a AAA game for Wii owners.

Ninja gaiden + Metroid = HELLZ YEAH

No, no, no! What is this!? This isn't right! Metroid and Ninja Gaiden are two of my favorite games, but they should never have been mixed together. I liked Metroid 1 and 2 a lot. Corruption was alright but I still want them to go back to how the games were in the beginning.

This makes me giddy.

Don't know about this.. Metroid has always been about the puzzles and not the action.

It certainly looks different. But this is not a true Team Ninja game unless Samus has gigantic, bouncy boobs the size of her head, even while in her power suit.

Though when I loaded up the video I thought it was the wrong one. Not sure if I want Team Ninja to be doing this. I like their games but they always seem a bit... well, I'm not really sure the word but I tend to like them and hate them at the same time.

This looks great...maybe we'll get a DOA crossover now for the next smash bros

What's the other M? Mother Brain? Magpie? Meat? I hope it's Meat. Samus shoots hamburgers from her cannon to feed the hungry masses...

Also, random side note, you notice the guy that calls her "Lady?" That's a call back to Metroid Fusion when she talks about her previous commander who used to call her Lady. She thinks about him while also thinking about the robot that now commands her. Interesting little tie in.

I'm really not sure if I like this. I loved all the previous Metroid games, but my favorites were from the Prime series (mainly the first one for its dark and moody atmosphere). It's fine if they want to go away from the first-person style that Retro Studios did, since it kind of lost its appeal after three games, but I really don't like the Japanimation look they gave the characters. The whole big orange fantasy city, the military officer in his cheesy teal uniform, and the anime-like faces look more like something out of a Final Fantasy game than a Metroid game.

fucking tight.   Hated the  prime  series and it's first person bullshit.

The GBA and DS games already had an anime-style look, this only further expands upon that.  Plus, Samus's appearance in Smash Bros. Brawl is already quite anime-like.

When I saw this trailer...I just about lost my shit.  2010 is marked on my calendar now.  Even though I'm a long time Metroid fan, with Super Metroid as my favorite game of all time, and I enjoyed the Prime games immensely, I am extremely excited for this game.  Yes, it doesn't look like it'll feel like the old Metroid games, but I'm really  looking forward to this new take on the game.

So what's with the part in there where it looks like Mother Brain is killing the hatchling?  Is this supposed to tie into Super Metroid somehow?

Samus should never talk or meet other people. The games should be about isolation and exploration of the unfamiliar. Turning it into Starship Troopers just really cheapens it. It made Metroid Prime 3 into a saturday morning kid's show and makes this look like a budget cgi anime movie. Super Metroid, even Metroid Prime, had a special atmosphere about them. This looks like it turns the series into yet another space drama to put on the mediocre pile. I really hope I'm wrong.
