This game is looking worse and worse. Had this game been released around the time the original Mass Effect was, it would have had a better chance. I can see this this game being panned becuase of sloppy controls and modest graphics but praised for its ideas.

I can see a sequel (I'm a fucking fortune teller!) being really good and polished. But I don't know if it'll get made; the bar has been raised since this game's conception.

Also, I have my doubts about this game because its creators actually thought that "Alpha Protocol: The Espionage RPG" sounded good. They must not have very good and/or creative writers.

This looks great. I wish they didn't have to wait a year for it to come out. I really wanted it last year.  Glad it's on the way.

Good to see mass effect 2 getting ported to ps2 finally...wait a minute.
Seriously though, graphics look ps2-ish, AI looks pretty stupid, and it looks like they have the same animations for getting shot, lit on fire, etc.
3/4 of those "gadgets" were guns, grenades, and types of ammo which I personally don't really consider gadgets.
Locked doors AND enemies? Way to think outside the box.
I was stoked for this game when we saw those first trailers what, a year ago? But now, way beyon dis interested, especially after this video.

We don't know who Bob is or if he has the security clearance but he told us to turn off the alarms so we did.

i think just plain shooting a guy would be the best thing to do if he is shooting you. cause in real life people die when you shoot them. you dont need to light their clothes of fire

Yeah, between ME2 and Splinter Cell's existence, this game is a tough sell.

Those games look like they have the base mechanics down.  AP game looks very rough around the edges with its animation and effects.  Way too early to be showing this off if this is how it looks.

Hard to believe they keep showing it looking this rough - it's not like they're just about to release it or anything.  The animation is terrible and it looks like they borrowed the HUD design from Rosco Mcqueen or something.

@Vitor:  The only aiming reticules that look huge are the shotgun ones and thats to be expected, i kinda agree with you though about everything else, this kinda seems like Mass effect with spys and worse combat. Some of the animations do look bad , like when he throws a grenade and the gun disappears and reappears.

Hmm.. I was pretty hyped for this game, but seeing actual shootings is turning me off.
Hope it's like Mass Effect 1, as in boring combat, awesome story/dialogue.
And by that I'm not saying I'm hoping for bad combat, I'm just expecting it.

This game looks a lot better now than in previous videos I've seen of this game. I'm actually kind of excited for it now. It's a cool concept too. Here's hoping it turns out well.

That animation was terrible - apparently if you're  spy you can shoot 3 bullets at once out of a single gun that each find their way to a different target...

I like the idea but the shooting looks awful. The second you replace skilful aiming with behind the scenes numbers, you create a massive disconnect with the person firing the gun and the character on screen. And with aiming reticules that HUGE, clearly there's a lot of number crunching behind the hood and while that's fine for something like Dragon Age, here that's just going to make the shooting really unsatisfying.

The games ideas are solid enough, however if your going to make a RPG with guns you still need to make those guns feel real and powerful. The shooting here looks pretty stale.

Yeah, the idea of the game and the original teaser they put out showed a lot of promise. Now, the gameplay walks the really thin looking line between solid, but quirky, or buggy mess (.....so, a lot like Mass Effect 1).  Guess I'll just have to wait until it comes out to find out for sure (like always). That's a fair assessment.

"I think RPGs are a very interesting game in that people want to play around with all the different types of options that they have available to them"

Is it me or does this sound like he has absolutely no idea what he's talking about?

With these kinds of videos you can usually tell what the game will actually be like. You can hear the lack of confidence in their voices, they seem iffy about their own game and they really look like they're trying to justify the game to players and themselves. I think if they felt they were developing a masterpiece, they would be much more comfortable with it.

This game seems a little dubious, but having said that, I really want to play it. Sadly, it seems like it's going to be one of those games which just ends up really disappointing :(

Sigh.

I'm seeing Army of Two's inventory system mixed in with the shooting of Mass Effect 2. They might want to improve some of the animations to be more fluid, just saying the Red Dead style quick fire system looks static and the cover movement not great.

Especially when they say "this is definitely an RPG", and you see the shooting... first thought in my mind = "Mass Effect!" Not that it's either a definite good or bad thing.

I suspect I'll buy this, but I might not play it until someone releases a mod changing every instance of the word "clip" to "magazine".

Looks like fun. Gadgets and powers don't seem to be anything groundbreaking, AI looks a bit iffy, and the graphics aren't the prettiest, but it all looks solid.

This game still interests me, but man those graphics look bland.  The menus and UI look pretty bland as well.

That's fine if it's an RPG, but this trailer made the game look extremely shooter-heavy.
