Microsoft Walks You Through Xbox One's User Interface

So should I hook up the TV, the computer, or the PS4 to the X-Box One? I kind of like the idea of playing PS4 games and getting X-Box notifications.

When will shitty plants be eradicated from set design.

@topcat88: how would skype interrupting you be any different from someone just calling you? You can turn it of or not even connect to Skype in the first place. You can even go busy like on the xbox 360 and you will get no notifications at all.

@deltaalphabravo: apart from the TV guide stuff I would say exactly the same. And I don't know but they have been saying they have content partners and shit like that in all other countries aswell so maby some if not all the TV stuff will work similarly if you have the Sky+ or something.

I was planing on ether connecting my PC to the HDMI in to have fast switching between the two(already have it connected straight to the Tv) or my Viaplay Box which is a Internet TV box to see how it works with it. I live in Sweden btw.

The new assist drives the car for you so its super easy to pick up and play this game, you dont even have to play!

Skype is garbage, can I do Google Hangouts instead?

Because, like with Apple, it's not "cool" to be a fan of Microsoft anymore. Man, if this video was released 5 months ago I think there would be a lot more on board with the Xbox One. Such a shame that Microsoft waited to start showing what everyone has been waiting to see until after so many people pre-ordered their PS4s.

I will be getting a PS4 this year and probably an xbone next. My concern would be how well this thing works in a house with kids that are quite loud and would really enjoy yelling commands at my xbone when I am trying to play.

The saying is, "haters will be haters." So, just ignore it Scoops. Constructive criticism is okay, but that dudes complaint was straight up ridiculous.

Man I'm cynical, but these responses, so many are just depressing. These situations in this video are clearly optimized and the video was edited in one form or another so maybe it doesn't work as advertised, but what they are showing, if it works, why is anyone poo-pooing it? It looks damned fantastic.

That article also explictly states that it takes a bit of a learning curve, and honestly I'd rather have it require a unique cadence because I don't want to mention the term "Xbox" in a conversation and have it boot me out of a game.

Also, the fact that people are STILL freaking out over the "spying device" bullshit are insane conspiracy theorists. Hey, guess what, your phone probably has TWO cameras and a microphone and a GPS tracking system and it's on you at all times, do you somehow think AT&T or Verizon are more trustworthy than Microsoft?

Especially when anyone is able to monitor their home internet usage and would know immediately if the Xbox was somehow shadily uploading your nudie pics or something. Microsoft wants your money and they gain nothing by selling your super important gaming information to the government other than ruining the tiny bit of trust they have left and losing potentially millions of sales.

Why the acting by the guy in black shirt? Like dude... You know the features stop with that wow's... This is what I hate about MS... Stop with the freaking acting. It looks cool and way more hightech then ps4 that's for sure. Now when we get the console... Expect a zillion adds on the main page and it won't look nothing like this.

If everything works like a hitch, then they will have earned the $499. But I suspect a lot of apps and services will be delayed in the ever awesome launch window time line. Still looking forward to COD Ghosts, Forza 5 and Black Flag at launch. Btw the free Killer Instinct was a nice touch MS.

The noise and distraction is enough. Surely it can easily be disabled/enabled when needed. If I'm watching a movie or sports I definitely do not want to be disturbed. PC Skype has that option, where you can be signed in but offline. Lets hope the xbox has a similar function for all notifications.

Don't even get me started on splitting the screen when watching something important.

Looks really neat; not a huge fan of the skype, but that was cool how it worked. I'm not sure which console I'll be getting first. I'm just excited next-gen is soon here. It was a bit funny how at the end, they went to Machinima, and it showed a PS3 exclusive game.

Looks good to me. New interface seems to have what I want: clean, fast, voice responsive. Kinect voice works Ok in my living room; I suspect the One will be a marked improvement. Will be interesting to see how it responds to a two year old shouting, "A-bawks stop!" at it. I basically pre-ordered for Netflix and Hulu with improved loads and voice control, figuring I'd buy for Titanfall at least so why wait. Looking forward to getting my hands on it even more now (tho I know it will likely be kinda broken when it lands in my living room because Microsoft).

@joshwent: Yeah, it seems like corporate people spend WAY too much time interacting with one another. They end up speaking marketing jargon instead of everyday language, just like people in other overly-chummy closed systems - doctors, lawyers, game developers, etc.

Kinda' like how every game writer lately seems to work phrases like, "vertical slice" & "ludonarrative dissonance" into every single piece.

I think the only thing I dislike more coming from these guys is the forced dudebro chumminess in these demos.

The camera tracking on the Kinect phone call was interesting. Not acutally tracking, just zooming, but it had the desired effect. The interface seems kind of...ugly. Colored square that have little icons in some, full on logo's with different colored back grounds in others. Not very easy on the eyes they they showed a group of them.

All irrelevant when I don't want Kinect always watching and listening.

Haha, what a fucking joke. They started it on the pins tab, and not the home tab where it actually starts, and that screen is filled with fucking ads. Great work.

I do not understand the love this is getting. I EXPECT an interface on a brand new system in 2013 to be fast, fluid, and snappy. I also expect the PS4 to be such as well, anything less at this point is disappointing.

My problem with the 360's dashboard has never really been the fact that it's incredibly disorganized. It's the ever-present ads and the turtle-like speed. It looks like they have gotten rid of both of those things, if this video holds true, and that's a really good thing.

(They haven't gotten rid of ads, I'll bet).

Okay, I know this is all rigged and set to the most optimal conditions and all that stuff. Still, That was pretty cool. If this works in real life as it is demode, navigating the Xbox One will be a breeze.
