It's not a bad concept but it is not, I repeat, NOT the direction Ninja Gaiden should go in.

This trailer actually looks like the game's story will be genuinely good. At the very least, it looks like they're at least trying to with the story so that's fine with me.

I know one dosn´t play Ninja Gaiden games for the story but this short trailer sounds decent I hope is more bearable than Ninja Gaiden 2 that was my only gripe with that game other than that...can´t wait!

i agree with @Grissefar: when he says this shouldn't be the direction that Ninja Gaiden should go in, but it still looks kinda cool. i'm just hoping the combat is still a ton of fun, with some challenge. the story couldn't matter less in a Ninja Gaiden game.

Ninja Gaiden isn't Capcom it's Tecmo.

More than its difficulty, though that has certainly played a part in it, it has been the visual style, the characters and the lack of any sort of halfway compelling narrative (at least from what I've seen) that has kept me away from this series.

Making a story focused trailer is enough to catch my attention at least. Show me what you got NG3!

That's okay, maybe we'll get a trailer for Devil's Third, Itagaki's new game. It's supposed to be shown at TGS. Also, did anybody else feel maybe a tinge of regret for the foot soldier begging for his life?

@SnakeEyes327: Nope, not even alittle. Nor did I have any regrets for the thousands of suicidal shuriken tossing bastards that stood in my way in the first two games.

But from the looks of the gameplay vids out there these guys arent going to put up the same resistance so maby I will feel alittle guilt if the game is as easy as it looks.

It's going to be different, but color me excited.

Past Ninja Gaiden games - for the NES - used to have a perfect equilibrium of story and action adventure but the current games were lacking in story. Nice to see they are reverting to story once again but I am a little worried of the combat because I am not a fan of the new direction they are taking.

I looove Ninja Gaiden, but the extra crappy story stuff is such a big turn off.

This game looks even worse than NG 1 and 2. And those games were terrible.

Oh God the nightmares of trying to beat NG2 for the 360 on Mentor mode. Just trying to get past the second stage where the Hayabusa's secret mountain fortress is burned to the ground for the 100th time...you think they'd delist themselves from the Japanese phone book or something.

lol Brain malfunction, sorry. The only thing that keeps me playing this series is the difficulty. I love to get frustrated when games are hard because they were made to be hard. I just hope this is better than NG2, that game wasn't bad but it wasn't NGB either.

The combat mechanics have been completely bastardised. Looks like you barely even play the game, and people don't see this? If you think this looks good, then you've never really played much of the previous games. It's becoming a casual story-based game. I blame all the complainers on the internet. This game is a shadow of Ninja Gaiden Black and NGII as-well. NGIII could have been the best one.

Hopefully the Devils Third delivers as I wouldn't play this game if it were given to me for free.
