BURN IT! Damnit Childs, torch it!

Jeff might be really into this

I'm really looking forward to this game. The sounds they are getting are great, and the idea behind the game is fascinating. And, as someone who has a small background in electronic music, I'd love to dig in and find out how they programmed the synth portions of the game.

pretty cool, when does it come out?

Waaaaaaait just a second, what is this? Tenori-on the game? set in 1979's concept of the future? This looks a little bit amazing.

Also Neon is the new black you guys.

The synth reminds me of Tron, in the best possible way.

Plug an Oculus Rift into this and you now have one of the first virtual reality workstations! Hooray!

This was my first thought as well :)

Posted by tourgen

wow, so this game is actually going to come out one of these days?

Posted by depecheload

Like the analog synthesis they're going for with this, nice and dirty.

Edited by mrfluke

oh wow, totally down for this

Posted by GalacticPunt

I... I need this. If it gets Oculus Rift support I don't think I'd ever turn it off.

Oh weird, I was just listening to the podcast where Patrick was talking about this, and here it is! March 13th, 2012, if anyone is interested in hearing first impressions when Patrick saw this at GDC.

that's so beautiful

Glad to see this is finally getting a release.

Is Jeff Bridges in it?

BURN IT! Damnit Charles, torch it!

I think you mean Childs?

Posted by Gabe_Fox

I hope this has Occulous Rift support, since it looks like what they wanted VR to be in the Lawnmower Man...

syyyyyygt!

Really nice sounding bass synth engine they have going here. Fat, warm, and dirty.

I dig this.

I really, really dig this.

Thinking the same thing. I love that sound.

Does this mean we are starting to get to the age where nostalgia for early polygonal games starts seeping into indie games? God I hope so.

If you've ever wanted to play in a world that sounds like a John Carpenter film, you've found it.

Oh my god, I could not click fast enough!

Yeah I hope we get a passion fueled Jeff QL of this at some point. He's all about those hot synths.

Posted by Itwastuesday

I remember playing an old alpha or beta version of this. That was really cool, this will probably be even cooler.

Edited by Tarsier

old synthesizers always = a john carpenter film reference HREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEpatrick

Posted by envane

hopefully the game part is as interesting as the art and music creation part of it , but even then the lil step sequencer and "patchbay" they have at the end is cool enuff to warrrant playing with it for hours ..

hope theres a simple way to capture output at high quality so i can make an album entirely within the game.

And it totally does sound like The Thing in that bass-heavy intro! Which is always funny to me that The Thing is probably considered the "definitive" John Carpenter score, and for once it's not even Carpenter who scored it; it's Morricone!

Yeah man. I thought The Thing right away as well. Maybe even some Dark Star in there...

That beat is sexy.

To say I'm totally stoked about this game would be an understatement. To say I wanted people to know about this game badly enough to create the page entry for it here on GB would be completely accurate.

Bring it on!!!

This looks amazing.

Posted by chrissedoff

Too bad it doesn't look like a John Carpenter movie.

Fuck, they left me wanting more! those assholes.

Posted by Gutterkisser

Goddamn, this is the exact sort of game I've always wanted to make. If only I had programming skills and actual motivation.

Anything with LPF control is an automatic win - you can forge worlds and create life with a good low-pass filter.

Patrick hears synths and refs John Carpenter? The commenters here hear synths and ref Tron?

How wide is your world oh, men of media.

Posted by heatDrive88

If this can actually tutorialize properly, I am so, so fucking down for this.

Edited by MeatSim

I was expecting way more synthesizers.

Just have this going under Dead Space.

Im not a musician, so Im sure Im missing something. What exactly is going on here? What kind of game is this? Because I honestly dont have a clue...

The interfaces on the instruments look very like some instruments I've seen built using Reaktor... I look forward to playing this.
