This was awesome live. Yay, sniped this quest twice in the last 12 hours or so ;). (And I've already had it for months).

Always fun to screw people over who try so desperately hard to get this!

You guys might have better luck playing on the new maps by setting up a quick bot match next time!

there's a rock solid Netgear  wireless N router that takes DDWRT -  it's the  Netgear WNR834B v2 , and it rocks pretty hard. Don't know off the top of my head if it supports Tomato, but DDWRT is a pretty damned good alternative if it doesn't.

I haven't played me some Call of Duty in some time. It's so nice to be free of it.

Posted by X19

Do they play the Zombie map and if so what time on the video?

Posted by 234r2we232

Wait. I'm pretty sure there are 5 multiplayer maps in this pack.

I agree, they could have just done the quick look with bots in this case.

It really amazes me that the CoD games are STILL using the same fugly blood splatter filter when you get hit.

Posted by Mijati
@X19:  They do not.
Posted by X19
@DarkDude: Fair enough that was the only thing I was interested in from this map pack.

Yeah 4 normal ones and 1 zombie map. They don't play the zombies though which I'm fine with, never was a fan.

You don't have to go slow and spend a lot of time hiding in order to play the game well. My best games are using my running class with a submachine gun and lighting people up as I find them hiding. The important thing is to keep moving because half the time you'll catch someone who is being hesitant to shoot while you run that you can catch them first. In fact, the guys hiding are usually the players with the most deaths. I've noticed they also tend to be the players playing split screen.

And players wait at tactical insertions not because of challenges but because they are easy kills.

still plagued with lame spawn points... even the objective spawn points. Try demolition on the long snowy map. you spawn right in the middle of sniping or acog reach of the middle catwalk. its fun for a day then it goes back to a once or twice a week type of game.

Changing your NAT setting has always been a royal pain in the ass for me.

Great map for hiding that first one.

Jeff is good at the game.

Lol Brad just said Call of Duty is about precision, haha!

Yup, it does, i'm running tomato on mine with the extra option pack, it's awesome.

Didn't like Blops, so I don't imagine I'll like the map pack. XD

Why do people say COD looks great? Looks like crap, kinda.

I want a tank with a snow plow like on the Berlin wall map.

I wonder if I'll ever play a COD game again.

The people in the office taking in the background in recent Quick Looks is really putting me off.

This game blows.

its a squid

  • love the comment by Jeff defending his (and my - and others?) working mom childhoods. Thanks Jeff Gerstmann's mom
  • the 'Berlin-map' shows Checkpoint Charlie ? - rather famous spot. Thanks, Vinny for Ronald Reagan horse opera evocation.
  • Brad. Oh, boy. Bradley... uhm ... what can I say. He is already tortured enough by being Brad ;)

btw. IANA's IPv4 addresses dropped below 2 Million. Very likely dropping to ZERO in the next couple hours.(see   @IPv4Countdown on twitter). And NAT is yesteryear's solution for lazy sys-admins & firewall fakers. Yes it works and avoids you, having to setup a proper IPv6 setup - but you would never ever have to deal with CONNECTION PROBLEMS IF YOU DID IT, Giantbombers. Your call.

I'm a Halo player and I always forget how fast people go down in CoD since I'm used to shields. Playing CoD is like playing the SWAT (no shields) game mode in Halo.

Jeff's icon looks like Earthworm Jim to me.

I thought that after I had a bad time playing MW2 online and I have to say that I'm digging Black Ops MP, and I'm still not very good.

The video doesn't necessarily do it justice, but it's not the greatest looking game there is, for sure.  The design of the environments and such are pretty good and if you stand still and just look at certain items and surfaces in the environment , they actually look pretty good.  That having been said, even though it may not be the greatest looking game, it runs at a near solid 60 fps.  Try playing the Crysis 2 demo, which seems to struggle to maintain 30 fps then switch over to any COD or MW game and you'll notice a big difference.

Played a bunch of Call of Duty 4 after watching this live last night. Yeah that game still kicks ass just in case anyone was wondering.

I think Jeff's player icon is a naked lady's torso and he's not admitting it.

When Jeff mentioned Modern Combat: Domination I thought he was making it up. Goddamn.

So in Stadium you don't actually fight in the stadium?

Why doesn't he like zombie mod, please tell me, this question must be answered!

Edited by Branthog

Of course you get worse the older you get. Your reaction time, eyesight, and mental acuity degrades with age. And we're not talking about being elderly. You only have to reach the age of 25 before learning new things becomes much more difficult compared to under 25, for example.

I played this for 300 hours in the first six weeks and finally couldn't take the chat aspect anymore and stopped playing. I haven't touched it for a second, since. I thought the new map pack might raise my curiosity so much that I'd have to rush back and spend another 300 hours playing, despite the ear-splitting chat assholes. I'm a little surprised to see that after this quick look . . . I still have zero interest in going back to it.

In fact, I just fired up both of my old EVE-Online accounts, this morning, instead.

Posted by Ares42

Heh, was just waiting for Jeff to make a comment about the Crysis 2 QL comments :P Knew he couldn't help himself =D

Good to see a map pack playlist put up there.

He hates fun.

More importantly, why the hell isn't he doing the combat training to check out the map?  It'd be so much more easy.
Posted by CosmicQueso

I fell asleep at around the 30 minute mark.  Then I woke up for the frozen food conversation around 41 minutes in and realized that was much more interesting than anything in the map pack.
