The soundtrack is something I would hear in a old action PC game. Which sounds great!

Posted by WaywardGamer

@CrimsonJester: It looks more like they decided to comment on the trade through the gameplay itself, which is probably much better. It gives a critical look at something in the best way that video games can, which is through their mechanics rather than some text that's all like "Hey wow this is the worst and I'm tellin' you guys, yeah."

This would make for a pretty great iOS game

I typically vastly prefer handheld, button games, but I have to agree with this. The fact that this does little/nothing with the buttons and two screens means this would be perfect on iOS. Also could benefit from the more sensitive touch screen.

I think it's telling that the UN inspector's salary isn't even listed, it's apparently a pittance compared to what the player would pay him.

music is dope as hell,

wish it was on ios though

Posted by ArbitraryWater

That music is totally rad. Not sure how I feel about paying $30 for something like this, though.

Jamming OUT to this shit. Great music

Wait this soundtrack is incredible

On one hand, I'm really happy to see the crew QL this game, since it deserves the attention, if nothing else then because of the great story behind it.

On the other hand, it's really frustrating to watch Patrick stumble through when I actually know how to play...!

Wow, this shit gets TENSE.

Give it 3 months.

People kickstarted this boreing ass game?

Posted by biggiedubs

Still waiting for that first good Jason Rohrer game....

The music's pretty great though.

I love the idea of this game, but $12 to ship to Canada just tips it out of affordability range for what it is.

"What it is" is an investment. I doubt more than a couple of thousand copies of this game will sell, meaning in ten years those of us smart enough to buy & keep it in good condition will make serious bank!

"Oh no, here comes THE UN INSPECTOR! ARRGH!!"

It's like a joke out of the Simpsons come to life.

Definately seems like making this a download would have been an easier cheaper option, not sure if putting it out for the DS achieves anything.

Posted by NoobSauceG7

This game makes absolutely no sense. But the music is fucking awesome!

Posted by dcgc

Really interesting! Will play this later for sure...

Posted by pocketfudge

The game looks boring as all hell but that music is HAWT

The music in this Quick Look is dope.

I think it's cool that he was able to kickstart a DS game, but I guess I don't understand why he didn't just release it for iOS.

Seems like that would be a perfectly fine place for it, and would be great with asynchronous multiplayer.

Cartridges individually stamped by the creator? This must be the most indie console game ever.

Posted by m16mojo2

Patrick is really starting to pick up his game! He's not over explaining anything, and in the Capcom Vs QL, he asked short direct questions. I love it! #teampatrick

I own this game. It's awful as a video game.

It would make a halfway decent board game though.

music is great, gotta love those electronic melodies

DAAAAVE!!!

This looks cool. It seems like a strategy game I'd enjoy. Or at least care about enough to get good.

Yup, soundtrack sounds dope. That's all i'm interested in but after some research it appears that it's only available to those who bought the special edition off kickstarter. "The material in the Anthology will never be publicly available after the Kickstarter campaign." Legally anyway...

Too bad. I would totally pay for it if available digitally.

Does this seem like one of those games in 10 years will be rare, and worth some cash? I think im gonna get it cause it looks fun, but should I buy 2 copies?

Posted by triple07

A Dave and Patrick quicklook? Excellent.

Posted by aceofspudz

It's unbelievable that this is a ds game and that the developer has a house full of carts. PC, iOS?

Posted by Milkman

The music is incredible. So good.

Posted by ikaruga

this game looks cool but it is too simple for a strategy game, there doesn't seem to be a lot of variables at all compare to other strategy game and having that tiny map with only 8 turns doesn't seems like a lot of value for 30 bucks

I watched this quick look before I went to bed. It gave me horrible nightmares of not understanding the material at school.

Edited by gateht

A quick look that shows just about the whole game, that's a first!

EDIT: Looked quirky and interesting at first, but quickly grew bored before the end of the vid.

I spent the whole QL trying to figure out how one could design this as a board game, that's totally what it strikes me as. I'm not sure if it's possible because of the whole bribing agents mechanic. You'd have to have some way to show the other player your information without them knowing that you know. Doesn't seem feasible in a real-life space. There's a lot of mind games that don't translate well out of the virtual space.

I'm considering picking up two copies as well. The game at least seems kinda interesting (mainly because I really like board games), and the story of how it came to be is crazy enough that I wouldn't mind owning it. I have a friend with a DS I think I could probably get to play this with me.

Music in this is dope, want to buy the soundtrack

Posted by melodiousj

Jesus, I didn't know this was made by the guy who did "walk to the right then die" the video game. Really kinda soured my hype.

Posted by smiddy

This game is so Patrick. Nice music.

Posted by SmilingPig

This game makes toilet tycoon look like a masterpiece.

Posted by Dan_CiTi

I got Passage on iOS and Alt-Play on the eShop, this looks interesting and the music is great, may have to pick it up.

Maybe if Kickstarter had existed in 2007, Bob of Bob's Game fame wouldn't have gone insane.

Anyone know of a way to nab that soundtrack? It's effing amazing - ethnic and synthy and a bit of the ol' 16-bit? Damn is it amazing. I ponder as to who made it - Rohrer, as far as I know, is a one-man-army.

EDIT: Welp, it seems that stupid is as stupid does (as it has been for all these years), and the name of the composer is on the effing box. Tom Bailey's his name, game music is his game... music.

Also, apparently he's a moderately(?) famous band member of Babble, some band I've never heard of. Oh well.

Oh no, Hans Blixx!!!

Patrick and Dave? New combo unlocked!

Posted by insane_shadowblade85

I read this as Diamond Thrust of London.

Posted by MeatSim

Yea really the UN Inspector has got it made.

Posted by Dark_Lord_Spam

I don't have a DS, but I sure as hell would buy a soundtrack for the game.

Posted by Colourful_Hippie

I gotta have this soundtrack.
