Quick Look: Hotline Miami

Some bad business is happening in Miami and Ryan and Patrick couldn't be more pleased.

That's pretty good. You deserve this quest.

Posted by smiddy

Aw yeah! Been waiting for this all day.

Posted by Olqavtoras

I wished so hard that there would be a quick look of this game! Hell yeah!

Posted by simkas

This game is amazing, I've finished it and every single moment was just awesome. All the action is quite difficult but extremely satisfying and fun.

The minute I heard cactus was involved, everything suddenly made sense.

Also, it makes me wonder when Patrick is going to play the Mondo Medical series for Spookin' With Scoops. Because it totally fucking belongs there.

This is like, a statement on the modern current of violence in our culture.

When you get that error that Patrick got, don't close it or press "cancel", it'll just close the game, press "ignore" and the game will just continue like nothing happened.

Id wager that the creator did not take much coke, but alot of shrooms.

Edited by skrutop

I'm in Miami, bitch! The music is hella rad.

Posted by Ghost_Cat

I just need Cactus to make badass t-shirts of this game right now.

Edited by Korolev

Weird. Very Weird. But that is good.

EDIT: This is like if the guys who made FTL made a game about room-to-room gangster murder. Which is pretty cool.

Damn, I think I have to get this.

Reminds me of DreamWeb except without the story bits

TNT Sideshow: Hotline Miami

So it's a realtime Dreamweb. Boom!

Patrick plays this game way too methodically. The time you spend waiting outside doors and planning strategies can be used to quickly restart and just blaze through it balls to the walls. I've found this works much better in terms of finishing levels, and it's a lot more fun.

Been loving this game but I need to stress just how fucking amazing the soundtrack is.

Edited by Islaja

God damn the music is good!

EDIT: Mothereffin' Sun Araw on the soundtrack! No wonder the music is great!

That's the way I do it, come to a door, take note of whatever is inside and then just run in fucking waving my shit around and hope I take out everyone.

Also, one thing that Patrick seemed to miss, if you aim at a guy and press the middle mouse button, you'll lock onto them. I really helps mostly when you need to very quickly take out a guy in a room that might take you out instantly if you fuck up.

Yup, I was thinking the same.

I'll definitely pick this up when they get the pad support thing figured out.

Thats great news, DreamWeb is an awesome game, or was in the mid 90's

Posted by tourgen

Looks great. It's on GOG too.

Posted by hustlerlt

This game looks pretty good. Probably will wait for the price to drop on Steam though.

Posted by adam1808

I bought M.O.O.N's EP (the artist that did the main track in this QL) before the video was over. Hot damn.

Posted by simkas

I'll give everyone a bit of advice - don't use a controller for this. The game (at least the latter levels) requires a huge amount of very quick and precise aiming and mouse aiming will give you that much better than analogue sticks would.

Posted by beef_melody

This game is freakin amazing, like Hitman on peyote

Oh wow, this actually looks goddamn spectacular.

Oh man, this looks awesome. I was really put off by the creepy trailer, but I'm pretty well sold now.

God damn the soundtrack is cool. Oh and the game looks cool to.

I also found that, unless you're going for a high score/rating, it often pays off to alert guards so you can camp at a door and use it as a choke point to just mow them down with a gun.

So, Hotline Miami thinks knife > bat?

Edited by fox01313

Hard to really describe this game or know what's going on but it's got some great music & visceral look to it. Nice that it's fast so you can do what's done in the QL to experiment around with some things. Would have been awesome if this had some of the visual skins from Retro City Rampage as it looks like something from the early PC/C64 era.

edit- it's almost like this is how max payne 3 would have turned out if went on the older pc look filtered through videodrome.

Either that or take a ton of potent drugs before you go into the fight.

Video again not working. WTH GB? This is why I pay you premium? For blackness?
