All this talking shit about celldweller is making me very sad...

Edited by paulunga

I totally remember that song from some Need For Speed game!

Posted by ModernAlkemie

I was really hoping the reward for defeating the Mercenary Commander quickly would be ending the level so you didn't have to listen to the rest of a Marilyn Manson song.

Ugh. This whole thing looks like hot street trash.

The Switchback segment killed me.

Amazing

If you make a rhythm game, the first point before you start it get a good soundtrack. If you don't, don't bother.

Posted by ZironZ

I unironically like all of this soundtrack. The game though doesn't look so great. I'd rather just play the songs in Audiosurf.

Posted by Phatmac

Might want to get good music if you want to make a rhythm game.

Mike Shinoda only designed the cover art for Styles Of Beyond's two albums.

What a bizarre game!

Also, why hasn't there been a new Elite Beat Agents? I'd buy a 3DS for certain if one of those came out.

Posted by MatthewSerious

Who thought this was a good idea for a game now? Was it conceived 7 years ago when that music selection was simply bad instead of unbearable?

Are they wizards, sorcerers, or monks?

I did some research on Switchback (don't ask why), and found out that when they were guessing where this kind of a song could be featured, they did a pretty good job. Switchback has been featured in such bangers as: Doom, Catwoman, The Punisher, xXx: State of the Union, Death Race 2, Kart Racer, Bring It On Again, Out for a Kill (Steven Seagal flick), National Security and many more.

It's also got a remixed version in Dead Rising 2. Which I also genuinely kinda like! Celldweller is sort of a guilty pleasure of mine, hafta admit. Though a lot of the songs on this game's default soundtrack even I think are pretty rubbish.

There was also a bunch of Celldweller tracks in Enter the Matrix and that's actually where I first came about the band.

So many handheld games coming to PC/Consoles lately. What's the point in having a handheld?

Edited by development

Everything about this is terrible. The art style is gross, the gameplay looks awful, and the music selection makes me sick.

That tracklist makes me want to punch babies.

What about druids?

@shagge: I liked Born Villain if it's any consolation.

Except "Pistol Whipped". That song's as fucking tragic as anything on Eat Me, Drink me and "WOW" from The High End of Low.

Mediocre rhythm game with severely outdated music and a story that isn't nearly dumb enough to be funny...

Why is this game?

Edited by Tennmuerti

The fact there there is not even a sound when you hit dudes just makes this look god awful and out of tune with the rhythm.

This is the first game in a long time that I bought immediately just from reading the description on Steam.

This game has the dumb awful music that OlliOlli should have had.

Posted by smileyforall220

The rhythm in this game doesn't seem to work? The button presses don't match up with any sort of beats or rhythm in the game. Unless Im missing something nothing is even matching so hes just pressing buttons?

I think my parents always knew that I was beatin' my music.

Oh god, that outro was amazing.

Wow, Zen Studios made this? That's really... weird.

Great, just after watching this I went to GOG, where they just had released Flatout 2 (from 2006) with this description:

FlatOut 2, an entertaining racing game full of dynamic destruction paired with hard-rocking in-game soundtrack featuring such artists as Rob Zombie and Papa Roach [...]

(Edit: Sorry, cut off the price point stuff that made the post seem pretty weird and ad-like)

I dunno, Pistol Whipped is kind of fun, if nothing else (weird thing to say about a song like that, but damned if it isn't a head-bobber). The lyrics are dire, though, so I'll give ya that. Then again, I grew to like EMDM in all of its hokiness and forced guitar solos, and I maintain that it has a couple of legitimately fantastic songs, so I guess I don't mind a bit of cheesy melodrama in my Manson.

He'll never be as vicious or witty as he was in the 90s, and I miss his almost labyrinthine wordplay that came to a head in Golden Age, but he's doing pretty damn good for a guy whose heyday is so long gone and whose band goes through members at such an alarming rate.

... Sorry to ramble, with MansonUSA gone, there's nowhere good to talk MM. :P

I seem to re-call Switchback being in a million CS/WoW frag movies.

I don't mind the rambling. xP I still consider him a fairly formidable artist with some gas left in the tank, with age and drugs kinda dulling the impact of a lot of what he does now. It's fair that he became more introspective as he's aged, and I don't mind the more personal bent his albums have taken since Golden Age of Grotesque (I just...can't do Eat Me, Drink Me at all though xD), but at the same time, like you, I kinda miss the wordplay and and outright vicious attacks on establishments from Antichrist Superstar and Holy Wood.

There were 3 entertaining 'things' in this video and the game wasn't one of them.
