Brad is the only one who know's what's up. Ill be honest, im the first to say he sucks at QL's. And I love Vinny, but "IS THAT A JUMPER?" - what?

i dont think these guys play many games in any detail.

Posted by rahulricky

man, this is as close to first as i'm ever getting

Edited by phrosnite

I fail to see the appeal of this game... maybe because I think zombies are f-ing stupid! I totally agree with Vinny that at launch this game was a half game and it still is but now at half the price.

Maybe one day I'll buy L4D, but I'm still not interested in it enough. Poor Bill...

Woooooooooo weekend quicklooks are the best.

Edited by IamTerics

I'm playing the L4D1 version. But why did he switch the for the bat?
And I dint think any of them read the comics.

Posted by Sek0n

It was 10 bucks for L4D1 & 2 earlier this week on Steam. Best 10 bucks I spent this month.

The idea about smelling like a zombie to avoid zombies has actually already been done, guys...

Posted by fox01313

Finale of this is probably a  zombie dinosaur t-rex :P. Great to see valve putting this dlc out.

Posted by Grissefar

Oh no, Vinny. Videos still don't show up on the front page automatically.

Or they don't okay a lot of Left 4 Dead considering that, you know, they have to play a shit-ton of games. More than you do.

in the film house of the dead 2 the servivors put zombie guts all over there bodys and the zombies were not able to detect them.
and the japanes translates to"taki...love you, goodbye."

it's so awesome of valve to release this dlc for the original l4d and l4d2.  i still prefer l4d's atmosphere to l4d2 though.  it was scary when i first played through all the campaigns; l4d2, not so much.

Posted by Seraphim2150
@Nonethewiser: part of that is due to the fact they play many many games really quickly in order to review

You guys should have planted some torches and waited for the sun to rise. They spawn in the dark guys!.....

Looks good, hopefully... possibly... TNT this week?

You would be extremely incorrect then. This game has twice as much content as the original, and not only is one of the best games on Xbox 360 and PC, but is the best coop experience available in video games. You're speaking from the position of a pre-release uninformed whiner. Ask anyone who has ever played L4D2 and they will tell you it's phenomenal in every way. It got excellent ratings, and sold better than all games not called Call of Duty or Halo.

It was popular to hate on L4D2 before it came out. Anyone who does it now just looks like an extremely uninformed troll. If you think zombies are stupid, then fine. But don't hate on an excellent game just because it doesn't appeal to you.

A game crashing when you alt-tab, intentional or otherwise, is CERTAINLY a fault of the game. It's fucking bullshit, and should never happen ever.

@Rolyatkcinmai:
Yes, it's an awesome game for $14. I won't agrue that... but it was an average game for $40-$50.

Hmm, "Atlanta is safe", wonder if that is a reference to The Walking Dead comic.
(on that note, can't wait for that show to start on Halloween)

@uskomaton: Exactly what I was wondering.

Funny that they mention covering yourself in zombie scent to hide since that is what Rick did in an issue of Walking Dead to get supplies for the group.

I hope that the TV series is as good as I imagine it can be.

For anyone interested in the plot that Brad understandably had trouble explaining:  In the online comic that preceded this DLC release, the gang is rescued by the military in Blood Harvest (the one in the house with the cornfield), but is detained for experiments on their immunity.  They escape the military, and take a train heading south.

As Vinny insisted, they are indeed looking for a boat in this campaign, but the lowered bridge at the end blocks the channel.  So you raise the bridge at the end with intentions to take a boat out to an island in the FL Keys.

Will give this a looksee, quickly.

Brad never reloads his gun.

L4D2 was never half a game. It's always been great.

Posted by PhanThomas

I am still disappointed that in L4D 2 you can't see your body anymore when you look down. A minor gripe, I know, but this should be standard today, it immerses you even more.

Posted by Forcen

Don't listen to Brad about the lack of exposition for this DLC!

There is a lot of backstory for this DLC, Valve did an entire comic about what exactly happened between the two games.

You sometime wish that they do some reasearch before guessing wildly.

For once I'm ahead of the Giant Bomb curve! I have already played, and thoroughly enjoyed, The Sacrifice (particularly since on the PC it's the low low price of $0). In fact, I was the one who made The Sacrifice.

Never forget!

I've alt+tabbed through some L4D2ing before, and it didn't crash. But it did stay on a black screen for several minutes. I don't know exactly what it is, but it seems to me like the game instantly unloads everything when you alt+tab, maybe consciously to free up as much space as possible, with the side effect that it has to load every single thing back in when you try to tab back to it, and that takes minutes. That's just me speculating, though. Of course, trying to alt+tab back and forth at THAT point probably crashes it... and that's hard to fault the game for.

I didn't need anymore Left 4 Dead after the first one. Watching this reminds me why. Shoot the running zombies!

Posted by Sauson
@Rolyatkcinmai:  You lost all credibility in your argument saying that L4D is one of the best PC games.
Posted by DrBobUK

Wow, it's nice to see some PC gameplay for once.

Posted by Yummylee

I also hope Claude made it, and that his goddamn wii is save from harm.

Posted by Seroth

Yeaaah, go Vinny calling out the lack of weapon bob on the pistol. I have no idea why Valve decided to do that, but it irks the hell out of me.

Posted by Baggykins

they are 4 guys and not playing it together? come on guys! This campaign is a far better experience with friends, alone with bots is kinda... stale..

Posted by CreativeColossi
@Rolyatkcinmai: L4D2 has far worse hit detection. Lag is still a regular problem in both games and rarely if ever do full campaigns get played on account of rage quitting, trolls, lack of time, etc. I've played 112 hours of L4D, I love the game but it hasn't aged well after the novelty wore off.

I was excited to watch this QL until I read the comments.  Damn they stumble through another PC don't they?

It happens to me with just about every full-screen game. Maybe it is a fault of the game, but it's a very common fault. That's why I don't ever do that, and why the Steam overlay is so incredibly useful.

To be fair, games shouldn't expect people to follow everything online before actually playing a game.

Such a tease! Tell us more.
Posted by CreativeColossi
@LordAndrew: Many games Alt-tab fine, especially StarCraft 2. Source games are notoriously bad at it.
Posted by fillmoejoe

Didn't play too much Left 4 Dead 2, I think it's time.

Posted by FritzDude

Game crash and errors... Go PC!

Posted by scarycrayons
@CreativeColossi:
Brad lost a placement match in SC2 when he alt+tabbed to make sure the game was recording and SC2 crashed because of it, so I personally wouldn't say that SC2 alt+tabbed fine either...
