Wow, this game looks really good. I really liked the older Splatterhouse titles, and while story-wise it's a revamp of the first game; I really don't come to Splatterhouse for the story. The executions and brawling look fun and I'm definitely going to pick this game up.

He can't know everything about every game that comes through Giantbomb. Brad's had a few quicklooks in which he's been as "unfunny and uninsightful" as Alex has been here... yet I don't see anyone clamoring to kick him off of quicklooks.  They are both just dudes giving their opinions on games they haven't seen yet and may not have any history with.

Give him a break, and if it's really that bad of an experience for you, just don't watch it.

that mask is voiced by  Jim Cummings, I remembered that voice cause it was in Animaniacs and The Mask(animated series) then I looked it up and found him and then looked at the splatterhouse page on here :D. Weird that he was in the mask animated series and now he voices a mask :D.

Well played. Theres nothing on the IMDB page for the game yet. I was about to do random searches and I realized that the Giant Bomb community probably already figured it out.

That's some awesome old school sounding music in the side-scrolling area.

I'm eating KD covered in ketchup while watching this.
This should go well.

Edit: ...Up until this moment I thought this was a Wii exclusive. :|

I'm not a fan either. His voice dominates any whisky media he takes part in, but with a fraction of the chemistry/wit the other guys bring.

Seems like something I'd want to watch someone else play more than play myself.  Just like the original Splatterhouse games, honestly.

Those load times seem a bit jacked up, even for an uninstalled game.

I rented this game and got a little bit past here and got a pretty big bug and had to re-do an area over and over and then just returned this boring buggy terrible terrible game.

I do not understand why people dislike Alex. I honestly don't. Alex is an excellent reviewer and a funny guy. I think people just feel uncomfortable with anyone that's not a founding member of giant bomb being on giant bomb.

Watched this because I was bored, never even thought about getting this.
Now I hope there'll be a PS3 version.
Nice QL, I enjoyed it ^_^

This is what happens when you have epistaxis and a sternutation ...

According to Wikipedia:

Perhaps the most well-known epistaxis-related death was that of Attila the Hun. It is thought by some that he drank an extremely large quantity of alcohol on his wedding night after his parley with Pope Leo I, suffered a nosebleed in his sleep, and was suffocated by the blood.

@Krystal_Sackful: You're probably right. And a lot of those people don't realize that Alex was there with them before Giant Bomb was Giant Bomb. He was their first guest for several weeks back when they were Arrow Pointing Down.

The man that voiced my childhood memories is now telling Jeff and Alex to kill people. Everything I know is a lie.

This game looks bad reallyy bad.

Yup, the punching sound is crap. Voice work is excellent, tho. :)

I actually found Alex to be really funny in this video and when he wasn't cracking a joke, he was setting Jeff up pretty well for one.  I can't remember the last time I heard an Alex/Jeff video (usually it's Alex and Ryan), which is a shame becasuse I really liked it.

I'm a fan of Alex and I think his history with the guys shows as he has a very similar sense of humor, especially compared to Ryan and Jeff.  Don't forget, not only was Alex on Arrow Pointing Down, but he was also on quite a few episodes of "The Hotspot," (yes, from that other place) along with Rich Gallup (as host) and some other friends of Giant Bomb.  It's something I didn't discover until recently, but in a lot of ways, The Hotspot slowly but surely turned into what became the Bombcast.

No bloody footprints.

Posted by Roger778

That was one seriously over-the-top splatterfest.  Definitely not my type of game.

Posted by Duivel

this looks really repetitive.

Is that the the voice of Pete from Mickey Mouse who voices the mask?

Edited by mithhunter55

The spike ball part is from wario land for the virtual boy.

I need all this blood, for a thing I'm doing.

Posted by npeterson08

This is why we can't have nice things.

Posted by dcgc

The blood effects look nice, but the game itself... I don't think it's worth a shot.

The voice of the mask is prolific voice actor Jim Cummings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Cummings. Cummings is far to good for crap like this: payday, that's what he was thinking.

This game tries to out God of War God of War but fails miserably. I can't list why at the top of my head right now, but God of War does brutal violence better; it's not cheap and gratuitous like this game. Gore was popular in the 90 e.g. Mortal Kombat, Doom etc but I think its passé now, unless the male early teen demographic latch on to it; it just doesn't look well made.

There have been previous Splatterhouse games...? What happens when they get to Splatterhouse 5, will they have to make Kurt Vonnegut references?

Posted by BluPotato

Want's to be God of War but is just missing the awesome thematic set pieces that makes God Of War awesome.  The original I though rushed you through a floor for a good ending other wise it hinted that Jennifer would die.

The mask VO sounds like Kiefer Sutherland from Phone Booth.

Edited by porousshield

The mask sounds just like the Smoke character from Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue.
