been playing this game constantly! Awesome game

Got this game. Loving it.

This game is terrific.

Also, hamachi works wonders and saves you faffing about with ports.

This game is fun, but it gets really boring, really fast compared to Minecraft. Once you get all the items thats all there is too do in it.

Edited by Vager

Oh wow, I never thought about digging a small hole and putting a torch in it when I'm underwater.
I feel kinda of dumb now.

Here's the trailer that shows the full extent of the game:

Posted by Jab1235

Everyone compares it to minecraft but only a small portion of it is minecraft, there is so so so much more to do then minecraft. There's a very large amount of loot, there is 3 bosses, dungeons to playthrough and alot more. Don't listen to everyone when they say it's just 2D minecraft (yes, it does have parts that are like minecraft though). People kind of describe it as having a metroid feel because you're working in one area to gear up so you can get to the next to get better gear and so on.

No thanks.

This looks pretty bad to me.

@MuttersomeTaxicab: Installing hamachi and getting all your friends to the same network takes WAY longer than forwarding a single port.

Glad to see a quick look of this. I've heard a ton about this game, especially as an avid Minecrafter, but I haven't really felt like going out of my way to look up exactly what it is. Now I know!

Posted by Sheetsy77

It looks cool... But nothing I would sit down and play for hours.

Posted by Manatassi

ouch Will seriously 10 hours in you dont even have any mana yet 5 gold and a house made from raw stone??? seriously what have you been doing for 10 hours?

Posted by emem

Not for me, but seems to be good.

Posted by Tetraphagia

I was never really interested in Minecraft at all, but this game looks much more appealing... I may have to pick it up

Tested? In my Giant Bomb? Tell me more.

Horrible, horrible, overpriced Minecraft rip-off.
If you look closely at the charactersprites then are recolors of Final Fantasy 6 characters. This game rips off everything.

Don't care much for this game, but Will did great in this QL.

I thought I wouldn't play this for very long but now I've put over 40 hours into a $10 game.  I've played this more than The Witcher 2 and LA Noire.

They left out the fact that you find 'hearts' that increase your health capacity and 'stars' that give you increased mana capacity.

The huge variety of weapons is a big draw, hunting for that next piece of awesome gear.  I've got a balloon, a cloud in a jar, and rocket boots.  Basically the boots use mana, the balloon makes you jump higher, and the cloud makes you double jump.  With full mana capacity and mana regen armor you can pretty much fly forever.  Which is very needed for the 'underworld' location where you mine the highest tier of ore.

Fantastic game, ridiculously addictive, and if you take more than 5 minutes to play it you'll see the depth.

I still totally don't get this type of game. I mean, I love legos and all that stuff, but that's exactly the problem. I rather just play with legos.

Posted by Jasta

Didn't expect that.

Posted by Thor_Molecules

Sounds like more developers want to cash in on the minecraft craze, and it works like a charm, seeing they made half a million bucks on day one.

Still, the game looks to be pretty decent, I am really liking the boss monsters and dungeons idea.

It's a great game from what I've seen ... the RPG elements, different areas and loads of enemies, massive crafting system, NPCs, and plenty of cool unique (and actually helpful) items. Good imagination has gone into it, raises the whole thing to a more interesting level.

Lego is the plural. You don't say 'sheeps' do you?

This whole "dig-a-hole" type of games seem to fit better in 2d than 3d. I'm not saying that this is necessarily "better" than Minecraft, just that it fits the concept better.
Either that or I'm just a sucker for 2d.

Posted by Slaker117
@MysteriousBob: Well, I know not to do that now.

Various message boards *cough* /v/ *cough*

i guess im not the type that likes building stuff, not for me but i can sort of see the draw.

I've seen Lego say "Legos" on their own packaging

I hate to break it to you guys but the new video player isn't working at all from my machine.  Just keeps loading and never shows the video.

I'd say the game is more about killing stuff and getting better gear through both crafting and dead bosses/chests.  There is the building option and to an extent it's needed but ultimately this is a 'master your environment' game.

RPG elements give this game a different audience than Minecraft.  I personally wasn't a huge fan of Minecraft.  Building was great and all but it had no lasting value for me.

I'm waiting until the summer sale to see if I can get this game on the cheap.  It's sort of something I know I'd want to play, but would probably spend one afternoon on and then never revisit again.

Posted by cyraxible
@Bernoulli: They're very adamant about them being "Lego bricks" rather than "Legos."
Posted by Kyle

I was waiting for this quick to decide if I should buy this, and I think I'm going to. I'm glad someone made more of a game out of the Minecraft concept.

Posted by kappamerc

So what do they call this 'genre?'

lego isn't plural.

Too bad they aren't showing off the dungeon, underworld, or underground jungle stuff in the video. Then you would see that this game has a lot more to it especially in a combat sense.

Posted by ThreeRoneC

Looks like an interesting game and its only $10 I might try it.
Another great QL with Will Smith.
Posted by Johnny5

This game does have a lot of progression beyond the basic stuff you dig for.

Posted by tmarg

I usually enjoy Quick Looks, but this video was very poorly done. They don't bother to show any of the interesting areas, monsters, or equipment. As a result, the game ends up looking much more like a crappy Minecraft rip off than it actually is, while they vaguely mention other gameplay elements that they neglect to actually show.

Posted by proggykins

Five bucks or less and I might pick this up, but I've sunk way too much time into Minecraft to get excited over anything like it.

Posted by iGaboru

I so wish this game comes to OS X so I can finally play it :D
