Because politics is a game

Edited by cyraxible

Well I tried.

The concept of the game is kind of icky and exploitative to me. Maybe I should lighten up.

Brad is really not good at navigating interfaces.

I wonder if it's possible to make a good political candidate or if they stick closer to realism and make everyone total shit?

Rage against the machine!

I find it really disgusting that real world matters and tragedies like 'Withdrawal from Afghanistan' and 'Military strike on Iran' have been turned into such abstract throwaway concepts that they are now options in a video game.

They're political topics. It's a political game. Why would they ignore it? Probably one of the only games that even has the word 'abortion' in it too.

they were throw away options in the oval office first

Not much different than how the media treats them at large though, is it? And doesn't the video game setting suggest that this is somewhat satirical?

Edit: Also - BOBBLE HEADS

Edit 2 - I may have mis-read your comment, I thought you were reffering to the game as disgusting, not the bastardiizing of tragedy to make headlines... which i think is what you meant. I think. Hard to tell nowadays.

Yeah it seems like this game pokes fun at the process (which is fucked) and the candidates (which are also fucked).

Yeah sorry I didn't mean the game was fucked, I meant that the process is fucked. Got kind of lost in translation between my brain and the keyboard, I have been up all night protesting Chick-Fil-A (Nothing to do with gay rights - their decor offends me)

Only the fabulous ones. They make me so angry.... Grrr! It's great though, because while I am getting up off my fat ass to do my daily physical activity (waddling from my couch -> car -> fast food joint ) , I can feel like I am making a political statement by booing the staff while I stuff my face with chicken.

I've heard from my own sources investigating the matter that Stack Stackhouse is a secret human.

Posted by Baal_Sagoth

I really like the more playful than vicious satirical tone and some of the references seem quite funny but it really doesn't look like a very engrossing game at all. More like something you'll fuck around with for a few hours, chuckling and moving on. Which is actually pretty acceptable given how singular the attempt to create a game like this is - at least to my knowledge.

Posted by MeatSim

I would vote for a president named Stack Stackhouse regardless of his political positions.

If you can't discuss politics with your friends then who is left worth having a discussion with Brad?

And does anyone know what reference Jeff is making when he says 3.50 onwards "we need to repeal 3 in the key act". I didn't get the joke.

Snarky response: They are clearly referencing basketball, just google it you lazy ass.

Non-Snarky responce: An offensive player can not stay in the key for more than three seconds or they lose possession of the ball.
