Rayman Origins Is Headed to the 3DS

Still looks good on the 3DS

It was supposed to be $15 for PS+ members this week, but apparently it's being pushed back :(

I'm interested in this.

Oh man and a demo? Totally going to check that out.

i tried the demo but the screen is to small for this game , already have this game on ps3 and its much better on a larger screen.

"The Wii Classic"? This seems like some sort of Nintendo propaganda, I don't think they can have sold many on the Wii at this stage. I'd go so far as to guess the Vita version outsold the Wii.

As for the game itself, I have no doubt the game will be just as good on the 3DS as any other platform. Being on a handheld didn't damage the game on the Vita and perhaps whatever 3D they add will make up for the smaller screen and resolution.

This reminded me, again, that I need to play more Rayman Origins. I got it for Christmas for the Xbox 360 but still haven't beaten it.

The 3D is kind of cool, but the scaled-down assets make me want to play it on any other system. The art is just too good.

yep is not terrible or anything , but tiny and a little blurry .. 3D's cool though ...

Just played the demo. Rayman is like the teeniest-tiniest thing ever, the visuals area a bit misty also. Really does seem like a game you should play on the consoles.

@Moncole: Quite minimal, nothing much of any note. Just fireflies in the foreground and bits and pieces of scenery, quite similar to what they did with that bad Rabbids platformer.

Yep, screen is too small for all of the art which just results in a blurry mess. Play on another platform if you can. Also, the audio is heavily compressed.

I played the demo and man... I didn't think it looked very good. It was very blurry. Did not look sharp.

That lower screen just never gets used does it.

This game is the most beautiful thing I've seen in years, play it on a fittingly beautiful HD display.

I agree with everyone, it's just way too small on the 3DS. The 3D effect is also minimal and kinda crappy...I say this as a fan of 3D. There are plenty of better games that were designed for the 3DS from the ground up, like Mutant Mudds and Mighty Switch Force. SKIP

I don't think you get the right to the term "classic" unless you're at least a decade old. Sorry.

So, take an amazing looking game and put it on the shittiest screen with an absolutely terrible resolution. That'll work out well.

I have it on Vita and PC and the game is gorgeous. I just played the demo up on the eshop and honestly it looks like shit on the 3DS. If you want this game get it on the HD consoles, PC or even the Vita but don't get it on the 3DS unless that us your only option.

Hope it does okay on the 3DS. The price for the console version dropped some 30% within weeks of release... not a good sign.

I'm getting this anyay, I'll get the Vita version when I eventually own a Vita.

Played the demo last night and it didn't feel all that great. It is on sale this weekend on steam this weekend though!

Wow sad to hear so many people say the 3ds version is not so hot. Well i can at least confirm that the vita version is still very gorgeous, In fact I'm surprised to say it's my favorite vita game right now.

I don't think the small screens will do the art of this game any justice.

I played the demo on 3DS and was disappointed by it. Great game on other formats though!

Played the 3ds demo after reading all the comments. I played it about one minute before shutting it down....no thanks. Shame, I had planned on buying it.

i was waiting to play this for the first time on the 3ds. after playing the demo im not so impressed with it either.....steam here i come!

Ubisoft sucks at making 3DS trailers. They put this exact same video on the eShop. 2D only, with the top screen action barely visible. Thanks for nothing, Ubisoft. I also downloaded the demo, but I'm not going to try out any of those until someone finds a way around the restriction on number of uses.

I just don't know why you'd play this on the 3DS over any other platform.

I highly doubt that. The disparity between the amount of Wiis sold and the amount of Vitas sold pretty much guarantees that Rayman Origins sold way more units on the Wii than on the Vita.

If this is avaliable on eShop I will double dip.

I found the 3D to be pretty lacking. Didn't add much for me and I found the window for the 3D to work in to be pretty small. The gameplay was still really solid. I played the chase level upwards of 30 times and didn't beat it. But the fact that I wanted to keep going was a good sign to me.

Just thinking about the last level of this level gives me tremors. Bested this game on Vita and, while it's beautiful, didn't think the platforming was as satisfying as, say, a Mario or even Super Meat Boy.

everyone was dissing this game but then i played the demo, and i love it. the 3d is subtle but its obviously a noticable difference from 2d. I like it a lot. Seems like a game i might get when it goes down in price.

You get 30 plays of a 3DS demo from the eShop ... if you're playing a demo more than that buy the game.
