...I'm pretty much okay with this.

Where is Barry, Claire, and Billy Coen. Am I the only that that thought Billy Coen from Resident Evil 0 was a great character?!

I don't know. Call me jaded, but that trailer seemed to be pandering to everyone. The early bits with Leon alone in dark streets seemed like it was targeted to people who like survival horror, but the trailer took a sudden tonal shift when Chris Redfield showed up and suddenly the game looked like Gear of War with zombies. And then, just to add to the confusion, the two new characters appear to be marketing the game towards the crowd that liked RE 5's co-op based gameplay.

Now maybe I am just a cynic here, but I feel like the broad strokes of the game's design are intended to appease everyone who considers themselves a "fan" of at least one game in this series... and in doing so I think they'll end up pleasing no one.

Of course, it is just a first run trailer. Things could change down the line and I could be eating my words. I mean, remember how scary the first RE5 trailer looked (the one before they included co-op). And... it was nothing like the actual game.

I agree. I hate this modern fascination with co-op in every other game. I don't like playing games co-op and I really didn't like re5 because of it.

I'd want them to take it back to a game more in the re2 style to be honest, but re4 style is great, too.

The more time passes by the stupider this series' American name sounds. Why couldn't they call it Biohazard?

First half looked pretty spectacular... while the second half made me remember that I skipped Resident Evil 5 for a reason, and I'm seeing hints that they likely did not learn all they needed to to win me back.

Did I see more stop and pop in there? Press "A"! Press "A"! You don't have time to smoke a bowl! You still playin'! Jump gypsy! We still getting treated to tank controls too? And dare I say, did he snap to cover behind a chest-high wall? Where's the horror? Where's the survival for that matter? Just call it action and be done with it. It's okay, really. So long as it's good.

I swear, Capcom, if not-zombies RUN up to my personal bubble and then start slowly SWOONING ever closer, inch by inch, we're done. Give me all the crazy creatures and overblown bioweapon melodrama you want, just don't give me poorly - nay, shoddily - designed gameplay.

Exactly how I feel. Even if we do get some semblance of RE 4 in Leon's parts, it'll be watered down by needing to cover the other character's sections, which seem like something I don't really want in a RE game.

Wow this looks nice. I really didn't care for Resi 5 much, but this is a hell of a reveal trailer. Looks like they're deciding to take a step forward with the gameplay, thank god they aren't just making it play like Resi 4 again.

Holy crap. Parts of that trailer looked really good... It had the vibe from the first 3 but also felt modern, this might actually turn out great...

Some RE fans are simply the worst, the two comments I've been seeing about this trailer are, "OMG this isn't a game with tank controls that feels like it was made in 1998, THEY'VE KILLED SURVIVAL HORROR" and "YAY you can finally shoot while moving, we're really making progress here, oh wait there's a cover system?? WHAT THE FUCK JAPAN, who told you to change things?!"

I was prepared to get excited but then explosions n shit happened. Looks like more RE5 ... which isn't bad, but it's nothing I find very exciting.

They are showing a lot for an announcement trailer, and none of it made any sense to me.

So much bitching about RE 5. Was it the best Resident Evil game? No. But it was still tons of fun playing single player ( except a few occasions) and co op was done pretty well. I say this as a pretty hardcore RE fan.

@Mars_Cleric: A heady mix of nostalgia, love of truly awful dialogue and that loving occasional moment when even the game felt like an enemy and you really panicked. Objectively, I know those games are dogshit, but I've never really got new Resi Evil in the same way I love Dead Space or the old games for some weird reason.

I think it looks pretty cool, but I hope that it isn't co-op the whole time like RE5. So is there a true cover system in place now, instead of that shitty "cover system" that popped up in like 2 places in 5? This seems so even more action-y now, what with sprinting, sliding into cover, shooting lying on your back. It's actually kind of impressive. Leon is always cool, Chris is meh, merc-guy's hand-to-hand stuff like awesome, and is that an older Ashley? Hope this turns out good, I really want to like it.

I totally agree. It's sickening. This game looks like it's going to be amazing. I'm a little bummed out as a huge RE fan to be associated with some of these people lol.

Seeing how it's a Capcom game, how bad is the DLC going to be? And seeing how it's a sequel to RE5, will it be action-adventure unlike RE5? I liked RE5 as a action game, but as a RE title, LMFAO.

Yes...YES! I'm all over this. You had me at "Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield are teaming up" but sealed the deal with a "zombie president."

I just hope it's scary and more thrilling like RE4 and less just pure action like RE5. Both were good, but RE4's the masterpiece. Also, co-op should be more optional. Or something.

Looks great except no indication of any tangible improvements to the combat system.

Also the "im in it for the money" dude is a little on the nose.

Buzzcut/Scarface dude in the last third of the trailer is so totally H.u.n.k. I'm calling it now.

Looks pretty awesome. I'm very excited to see what tweaks Mercs mode will have based off of some of the moves and game mechanics shown in the trailer.
