Well, seems fitting with the stupidity that Sonic has become at least. Also, did you know that Sticks is a wild animal?

Look, they turned Sonic into yet another innocuous, uninspired not-Saturday morning cartoon.

I don't give a shit, because Sonic hasn't been interesting in a very long time. And heck, I'm not even sure if the games were ever actually good. I'm mostly just mad at myself for watching this fucking trailer.

Well, she's at least so far a better character than Big The Cat or any other asshole they've put into Sonic games for the last 15 years, so that's something I guess

A lot of people have a hard time letting go of the past, it seems. Whether those people liked Sonic back in the day and compare every new game to their nostalgic memories of the old ones… or people who hated Sonic back then and can't help but feel smugly vindicated by the way things have gone for the series since the 90s.

And I say this as someone that has never cared all that much for Sonic games even back during their hay day -- the only Sonic game I could say I genuinely like is funnily enough the Sega & All Stars kart racer. I just really really don't give a fuck. Sonic has been shit for a very long time, any other franchise would have crumbled underneath its own crushing weight of YEARS of Awful Goddamn travesties they called games.

Yet...Sonic just keeps going, it is so far up its own ass that I truly cannot fathom what people desire out of it.

I've never understood why everyone is so against more playable characters in Sonic games. It's not like by adding a new character, it automatically makes the game worse. It depends on whether the design sucks or not.

Shadow the Hedgehog made his games worse, what with his focus on guns and cars... but I don't see Sticks ruining the game by existing. I feel like some people can't handle change, even when it's often for the better.

I want to like this post but I can't.

Did you actually watch Power Rangers? I loved that show, but that shit was dumb as fuck. Also, the main villain in Ninja Turtles was called "Shredder"; that's easily as dumb as a character named Sticks.

The "introvert" comment was just a little joke from Alex. The actual character is probably just lonely from being stuck in a jungle.

This trailer has convinced me, that I never want to meet the person doing the voice of the new character.

Sonic should be a white hot candidate for the 2014 Game Awards of PLEASE STOP.

And I'm not just saying that because I have a Mario avatar. Go-fast isn't an interesting gimmick for a platformer any more, and introducing more andromorphic animals to the mix does nothing for me. There's two characters in the Sonic universe that matter, Sonic and doctor Robotnik. Everyone else just exist to remind me of the terrible fanfiction that follows this menagerie around.

Oh thank god another side character for sonic. They didn't have enough. Every game I hear people cry BUT WHERE ARE THE NEW CHARACTERS. Finally there cries can be silenced.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did that on purpose. SEGA likes reminding Skies of Arcadia fans that there will never be another game.

It was only a matter of time when a lombax would invade the Sonic universe.

The next Sonic game after this needs to open with every single one of Sonic's friends being horribly murdered, except Tails and maybe Knuckles. I think that's the only thing that would actually get me back into the franchise.

I'll give those voice actors credit - they care more about the motivations of the current Sonic cast and "storyline" than anyone else on the planet (but hey, joking aside, A) it's money and B) I'm glad they can get into the role for something which I don't often consider: the voice acting that goes into games that are more kid-oriented and not often heavy on voice acting to begin with).

Also, it's far too late for me to go back to the stable of Sonic arguments like "LESS characters, not more" because they already did that and while I can't say any of them were bad games because I didn't play them, the fact is that I didn't want to play them.

I'm surprised it's not Styx.
