After playing the game, I would have disappointed if Giant Bomb gave this 5 stars. It's a good game, but a pretty thin package for the price. I guess I still haven't experienced all of it (finished the game but haven't played every level, don't know the all-coins prize, haven't had a chance to get in any multi), but even with all that considered it doesn't feel much bigger than ...

If I made a game there would be unlockables but also a big button in the options menu to immediately unlock everything except the very toughest unlockables. T hen if you want to do it yourself, go nuts, but if you just want (almost) everything right away, you can take the option.

@Twilight: Ok I think the red box is cool, but by admitting you'd be more likely to buy the box with that colour, you just proved that Nintendo spits in the face of third parties by letting themselves be the first to have a non-white box. I wanted to get an excuse to buy this game, but the demo didn't really cut it and this fine review helped bring me to my senses. Well written Ryan.  Also thanks to Foolish Chaos. I thought 4 hours seemed like an off estimate. And thanks to the other commenters as well who agreed\disagreed with the review. You've all been a help.  Bring on Brutal Legend 2!

Mega Man X4.  Dear God, Mega Man X4.  Any Capcom game really.  Also, since DDR Supernova, all of the PS2 DDR games have had at least one stupid-hard challenge chart, which is annoying because they still don't have a lot of Max300-level charts, so why not fill out that region of difficulty first? Bah.

Getting pretty amped for this one; sounds like the Motion+ is what I was hoping for. Love the level of informalness on this review. It's just right.

I avoided the game anyway, but pro reviews weren't as succinct as this one in explaining the flaws with the game. It truly sounds like $10 WiiWare material. Kudos on the review.
