Maybe at some point many of Nintendo's big multiplayer Mario franchises will be like Super Smash Bros., like Super Kart Bros. in this case, and even a Super Striker Bros instead of Super Mario Strikers (not that those would necessarily be the names). Or if they'll just keeping holding crossover stuff for DLC like with this.

As far as this DLC goes, I would probably see them as worth picking up, assuming those new courses are as good as MK8's existing ones. The combined price is fairly high, but it's a whole new row of cups (half of them new, the other half restored) in an already excellent game.

It also increases the likelihood of Smash DLC, on WiiU at least. Sakurai had made statements contrary to that, but that was some time ago. But given what has been shown, I trust that the core games will be well worth their price even if DLC is added later. Hope they don't pull a dirty trick like holding out something like Break The Targets for DLC, though.

It would be awesome to see Nintendo making both games and peripherals (Wii remote, Wii U tablet, etc) for PC, especially if they played cross-platform with their consoles. Guess they're talking more about smart phone games though... or maybe something like iFruit.

That was fast. At this rate, we'll have larger cities before 2020.

It's good as Tower Defense games go, but it's $10 when not on sale, four-and-a-half years old, and mouse controls are nice to have for it.

@dvorak: It's still a 25% difference, like a $40 game VS a $50 game. Sure it's only 50 cents instead of 10 dollars but each is just a pack of levels instead of a full game. Multiply by the future DLC in future games, and the money adds up (assuming you still buy all the DLC you would otherwise).

Man there's a lot of Wii hate over this game. You know the console can crunch numbers, right? I guess I can understand why someone would like 1080p over 480p for an "artistic" game like this, but the console doesn't limit gameplay possibilities at all, which I could swear is being implied by some of these posts.

" the game forces players to deal with the consequences of their actions. Ultimately, players must ask themselves, ‘What kind of hero am I?' Each player will come up with a different answer."    "

Considering the track records of games marketed this way, I'm going to let this game slip off my radar and hope for a pleasant surprise when it comes out.

Vinchenzo: Maybe you should ask the millions of people who bought Kingdom Hearts and its sequels (or the thousands that bought Mickey Mania before it). And don't tell me people are buying KH for the gameplay. Seriously, don't tell me. It'll make me lose my faith in mankind. (j/k all... kinda)

Edit: Oh yeah, and the Wii does have HD (basically just saying that to make keeping my name in red justifiable).
