The Citadel Gets Intriguing in Mass Effect 3's Final DLC

You know, its kinda depressing when the comments for this video on IGN are WAY more positive than here...

Sorry I'm a little cynical when all previous dlc and the base game was awful in the story telling department.

I actually got a very similar vibe :P this looks - like more Mass Effect. Like many to comment before me however, I agree that as I've completed the game I'm not that excited. Maybe one day if I replay the series it would be nice to have new chunks of content curtosey of the DLC - so never say never I guess.

They already released the DLC that lets you play as a giant invincible robot with a minigun. Can this one compare?

I, for one, liked ME3 and dislike the tone of this trailer. This is way cheesy and doesn't seem to fit into 3's story at all.

Maybe it's just the bits they pulled out for this trailer, but the writing seems to have recaptured a bit of the tone of the first game. It's too bad that ME3 was so over-the-top serious all the time. It worked in small portions, but it didn't have those moments of levity that the first two games had. It was bone-crushingly depressing most of the time. It did depressing better than any game I can remember, but it was a bit much. This looks decent enough to pick up.

Urdnot Wrex is confirmed as a squad mate for this add-on.

@coleslaw893: It seems like every thread that opens up on here re:Mass Effect ends up with the same people making the same complaints about the ending. I get it. Some people didn't like it. I just don't get the endless desire to repeat it over and over again. The bitching gets a bit tiresome.

Mass Effect 3 is still great and this looks pretty good too.

I wish I could be interested in this, but I feel kind of done with ME3. Never went back and played the extended ending and doubt I ever will either.

That looks fun. Weird that they'd need all hands on deck for this in particular, but maybe those bad guys are really bad.

Looks like I'll be jumping back into Mass Effect 3 one last time...

I might as well get that Omega DLC while I'm at it, because S-Ranks. Don't care if it's overpriced.

The same way every other DLC has worked I assume; taking place before you set off on the "point-of-no-return" mission.

I don't... mmmmmh... what? I don't see where that will fit into ME3 storyline at all. Seems like contrived fanservice but that's probably what will push me to buy it...

I really, really, really hate how they're advertising this as the last hurrah with Commander Shepard and the crew. I'm terrible with goodbyes, and Mass Effect has been one of my favorite series since day 1.

Nevertheless, I'm going to buy it. Hell, I'm practically honor-bound to.

Well, this doesn't happen at the end of Mass Effect 3. That's the glaring issue with releasing DLC a year after the original game, which has a story which is meant to wrap the whole arc up (even though it needed DLC to actually do that in a competent manner). I waited until November to buy ME3 so I could play through all of the single player DLC that was out. But now I've had the story wrapped up, however much I may or may not have had issues with it & there's now just no desire to go back to it.

I'd certainly not object to the concept of this DLC, it looks fun enough, I enjoyed ME3 in general & have a degree of attachment to many of the characters. But reloading an old save just to jump into this in the middle of the story? Not for me unfortunately. And that's the problem with ending things like they did, there's no real way to go ahead & just do a "stand-alone" piece of downloadable content, it's own little story to one side of all the goings on in ME3.

I'll probably get this just to get my ME fix. Seems kind of goofy, but might be fun.

Fanservice yeah but I'm a fan so I'm not sure how that's bad. This looks kinda goofy but I'm not gonna say no to hanging out with Garrus more.

This is fan servicey as hell but seems really cool. I think it's cool that for the last DLC they made something for the fans.

Immediate purchase, just like every other Mass Effect DLC. Say what you will, I find the gameplay in Mass Effect to be savagely satisfying, be it story or combat. Goty by a mile for me, and this DLC looks like it will be the icing on the cake - a cheesecake for sure, but would you want it any other way?

I for one, like this lighthearted direction they are seemingly taking with this dlc.

This may be complete and utter fan service but I can't say I'm not interested. But certainly the dumbest part was:

I was a huge Mass Effect fan, but I had a bad feeling about ME3 (even before any of the controversy erupted) and I never did play it. After the PS4 announcement, and considering how much joy I've gotten out of the HD re-releases THIS generation, I think I'll wait for a trilogy collection on the next set of consoles; play through them in sequence and just enjoy the ride, problems and all.

Shepard has gotten new clothes/armor over the years, made new friends, got pets, redesigned home. Now getting a new place to hang out with friends.

I will wait to see how long it will be. $15 is a lot if it is just an hour or two, fanservice or no.

I cannot believe how uninterested I am in Mass Effect these days. Trailer just made me roll my eyes at the fanservice, so I'll go back to safely ignoring mass effect stuff.

This might be the only ME3 DLC I end up getting. I'm a fan, I want to be served.

Yeah the tone of the trailer is pretty cheesy but after all the depressing moments in the rest of ME3 it's nice to see something a little more lighthearted.

If your having doubts that this will be worth $15, Bioware has said that it's so big that on the Xbox they needed to break it up into two downloads. Sure some of that content might just be romance stuff but i'm definitely buying this(i sold my soul to Bioware a long time ago).

And Bioware continues their inevitable decline. Guess they have to keep the lights turned on in their offices after The Old Republic completely tanked.
