Time Trotters: Night Trap

I've never seen any of these before and I feel that my life was lesser for it.

Seeing how many comments there are from people who have never seen or played Night Trap before makes me feel old...

I still think Night Trap would've been a decent game if the audio and video feeds had functioned independently of each other. So for example, you might choose to listen in on one specific room, while you hunted around the house on a video-only feed for dudes to trap. That way you'd be able to follow the "story" while still playing the game, as opposed to now where the game punishes you for trying to watch the game's content. I'm not sure if it would've been doable on Sega CD technology, but it would've made a world of difference.

That ending sequence made me nearly piss myself with laughter.

I used to think Time Trotters was overproduced and didn't belong on Giant Bomb. Then, I saw this.

I loved this. Going to watch it again and again. Jeff and Ryan talking about Night Trap is a great thing.

My favorite part of this is when Jeff was like "this is like an advertisement for a bad board game - watch out for the WALL TRAP!!" so god damn true.

So this is how Southpark ends?

The continuation of Time Trotters would get me to subscribe again once my membership ends. Too bad we'll never see the rest of the series.

Hmm, probably gonna need to find a new favorite thing ever. These two episodes are pretty much all that exist. I think Jeff says he might have some unfinished audio recordings, but the series ended when Jeff was fired from GS back in 2007. Jeff and Ryan have also said it's pretty unlikely they'll go back to this format, since Quicklooks are basically the same idea.

I only really liked the parts where they were playing and explaining the game. I could have done without the animation or the thin back story of Time Trotting.

I find Coello's art style oddly charming. I especially like the small details like Rich's "ghost punched" eyebrow. Your voice acting was great as usual and your cartoon counter parts sound way more enthusiastic about playing classic games than you guys do in recent years. It would be pretty easy to track down Frank Welker and pay him to dub the "evil Nuke executive" as Doctor Claw.

To be clear I love this old piece of video. I miss the the older videos with a lot more focus on editing like TANG and reviews. I know its a lot more work to put together such a paltry amount of video content especially when compared to the efficiency of live stream captures. At least I know I'll have the GOTY stuff to look forward to every year. I wouldn't want to change the way you guys do things because you are changing all the time anyways but I really do miss Vinny's old school edits. Just try to make it back from E3 alive.

I think today's Jeff reaction to Dana Plato would be "ehhhh... ahhhhh.... I dunno." It was weird hearing Jeff give a lusty reaction. If he ever does it today it's completely sarcastic, and usually directed at uncomfortably underage Japanese games.
