Just seeing the still from the above video makes me not want to watch it.

I just realized recently this is from the same people that made Mod Nation Racers. Crazy.

Now I want to see Media Molecule make some fucked up action game.

Wow, the game actually looks pretty cool.

Looks like shit.

While I'm not really impressed it does seems like a ton of mindless fun.

I play this game for the setting no matter what. So much potential for something fresh.

Edit: nice to see the one good thing from Wheelman to get adapted by some other game. The action hijack thing should have been in Saints Row the Third.

Well I watched the video... It doesn't look bad.

I can't see this having the greatest story, it will probably be average in that department, but it does look quite fun. It sure as hell looks more interesting to actually play than the last GTA or even Saints Row so I'll be picking it up.

Started ok than changed for the worse, chase scene was dumb ..

Gameplay looks like the only decent aspect of this game so far. Everything else looks terrible. I also hate that it is set in Hong Kong as it is a hive mind for move tropes and cliches. I'll probably rent this eventually.

Wow, I expected worse.

... That said, I really dislike when I'm asked to conspire in cold-blooded torture. I wonder what they hope to gain by having my character complicit in the gruesome dismemberment of an unarmed man.

Glad they actually got people to speak cantonese in the game.

Isn't this supposed to be the game with all those high profile voice actors? Where's the talent? Also, that fat old lady was totally speaking cantonese... so, that was kind of cool.

Looks pretty good. I can see it getting repetitive over time. Sick vault assaulting though but I don't see it selling very well.

I'm "Wei" excited for this! Ha-HA! Though I'd love to see someone "plei" it in a Quick Look...hopefully Ryan can "get that build of Sleeping Dogs to work."

I think it looks great, wow. Can't believe some of these comments calling it shit. Why? It looks as though the game rewards you for actually getting out of cover instead of playing a game of turtles. Sure it's unrealistic but it's also a video game.

I much as I like the voice acting in the game(and the talent behind it), I kind of just want to play it in Chinese with English subtitles.

What is the main dialect for Hong Kong? For some reason I thought it was Mandarin. I'm a very ignorant person.

god the lipsyncing/mouth animations look SO BAD. in fact, in general this game looks like something from several years ago. animation also looks pretty bad. granted, a good story can save a game with a lot of aesthetic shortfalls, but it's a shame to see a game with so much star power behind look so bad.

Looks like a True Crime game... in other words, a bad GTA clone. I dont see anything innovative or cool, the graphics dont look particularly good either, nor do the physics. Not interested at all.

P.S. - Driving and shooting at the same time are THE worst parts of these types of games... when are the developers going to learn that... seeing that sequence alone turned me off completely. And whats with the silly unrealistic ragdols and bulletproof cars? Having to shoot out tires on bulletproof cars is what PS2 games did due to technology limitations (simulation)... this isnt something we should be seeing 10 years later in 2012.

P.S.S - Whats with the characters talking in different languages to each other.. i might be picky but thats sooo annoying! They all are clearly chinese (or japanese, not sure)... why would they possibly ever have a conversation in 2 different languages? Totally breaks any kind of immersion... not that it had any in the first place.... but it ruins any chance for it.

They should commit to either Cantonese or English. There's no reason the old woman should be speaking a different language than the other two, especially if everyone can still understand each other. She's not a Wookiee. Also, isn't this fucker supposed to be a cop?

@andrew2696: Cantonese. Honk Kong is mostly Cantonese. It's mainland China that is Mandarin.

Really wish the whole game was in Cantonese rather than this odd mix.

I really hope this game turns out well, but I already some questionable open-world jank and other annoyances such as that triangulation mini-game and the poor lip syncing. I guess this is what happens when you don't have Rockstar money.

Whenever the developers say they want something to be like an action movie, I cringe. Basically we're looking at a lot of playable cutscenes with some generic TPS action throw in.

I'm not from Hong Kong but I also speak cantonese and I felt that the cantonese the woman was speaking at the start was a bit forced/odd sounding

Well they said they went to Hong Kong and did a ton of research so it would have been awful if after all that people were speaking Mandarin.

As refreshing as the game looks, it seems to be lacking a certain 'tightness' in it, especially the animation.

ugly game , looks fun tho so i'll give it a shot.

You can't commit to either. It's Hong Kong where both Chinese and English are the official languages. People often forget that Hong Kong was part of the British Empire and remained under its control until 1997.

So many stolen mechanics so little time..! looks fast paced though, will still play probably, I Would want to a lot more if it had the art style of the box art/odd music.

i like how he fights 5 dudes but no one bothers to help as he casually puts a guy underneath a car engine.

i also like how he in turn shoots like 7 dudes with an assault rifle while standing out in the open as a dude TWO FEET INFRONT OF HIM misses shots, while everyone else just sort of waits around until they get shot, doing nothing to protect their own life.

also i dont want to play this game :(
