We're Still Getting Sims 3 Expansions, Apparently

Am i alone in thinking that this seems pathetic? More so than the regular sims. I mean maybe if you weren't old enough to have done any of this stuff this might seem cool, maybe? But the idea of making a fake man do a fake keg stand and thinking that it in any way is cool just seems, sad, to me.

If your Sims can be killed by a vending machine falling on them, this is the greatest expansion ever.

Could just be me, but I feel like the game gets buggier with each expansion. Layering buggy systems on top of buggy systems tends to exponentially break things. XD

I would love to get back into The Sims out of nostalgia for the first game and it's expansions but to get the whole thing, even during the like 75% off or whatever it was during the Steam Holiday sale, it was still at like $140 or something ridiculous. Sigh. Oh well.

If it let you commute to school from your parent's house and then spend all of your free time playing WoW then it would be an accurate depiction of my college experience. I'm going to go back to sobbing gently about how life passed me by.

But the games are still really neat. They just need to bring co-op to the PC instead of keeping it only on console.

I have that but they only allow activities with some professions, and it's still pretty minimum what you can do.

Uh what? Sims 3? I'm starting to feel really old now... last time i heard about the Sims, part 2 had been all the rage. Feels like i missed out on something, but i haven't been in any coma as far as i can recall o_O

It's also funny how people consider these games somewhat legit by now, guess we gotta thank Facebook games for that? As those have taken the title of "Games nobody admits to playing that still end up unbelievable successful" by now.

Do you have other examples of these songs? This is the first I've ever heard of this.

The worst part was the writing made a little bit of sense. "University of Fantasy" is what it looks like.

Never played a sims game, but was really excited to get into one a year or two ago. Never really had time, or was worried PC wouldn't be able to run it. Arg, maybe I'll try it out this summer.

@Stahlbrand: It's not a matter of seriousness vs. unseriousness. I didn't ask for serious. What I want is for Alex to stop leaning on jejune sarcasm like a crutch and grow as a writer. Step one of this process: stop using the word apparently. All he has to do is state something and append 'apparently' to it and it's instant hilarity, apparently. He does this constantly, and things like it, if you pay attention. It's bad writing.

I'd be excited, if I didn't get bored with the Sims after about an hour and a half of play every time I feel the urge to try it again.

I think I lasted a week once, but the act of sitting there and watching my Sim read a book suddenly made me depressed and I had to leave the house.

Two things:

1. Was that song in Sim-ish?
2. Did the weird writing make anyone else mildly uncomfortable?

The overpriced item packs deserve all the hate they get, but EA has been pretty good at adding new and interesting systems with each proper expansion.

It comes out on my birthday!
