Glad I'm getting this on PS3! Jesus - the framerate really took a hit on WiiU! Still, while reviews are mixed, I dug the hell out of the first Epic Mickey. A great fully 3D platformer, with a cool mechanic. GameInformer didn't like this one even a little though. Mentioned problems with the level design, Oswald's AI, the camera, some other things. But people slammed elements in the first game that I loved. I expect this game to get a mixed reception too.

I just hope that, should they do an Epic Mickey 3, they try to get back to the original concept art. There was edge there, there was something compelling. This is solid, but it's not really interesting... it just looks like a Ratchet & Clank or Jak & Daxter game. Which isn't so hot on HD consoles. It should look like Ratchet and Clank FUTURE.

Certainly the biggest disappointment of the whole stream. Wii U Epic Mickey 2 is to be heavily avoided for sure. Certainly tells you how much care was put into porting this over.

How do you ship something like that? How do you put that in stores and ask for $60 when you know damn well it's busted in its current state?

agreed. a smooth framerate while still looking good goes a long way. I would call this WiiU version unplayable at times due to the constant fps drop.

I really want an extended mix of that Nintendo Land loading music. They could really make something great out of that.

The painting is like magic. I haven't seen frame rates like that since N64.

I really hope it wont take another 6 YEARS for the next Nintendo system, because so far i'm passing on this :P

They really captured the feel of the 1960's computer speed with this one.

But really the Wii U seems like it will be awesome, too bad this launch is mediocre, but then again, the launch of every console over the past ten years has been really spotty, full of half-decent games.

@gyozilla: Well, that's an extended recording, which I knew would pop up almost immediately. I meant something more than a two bar loop.

I remember the first look at Epic Mickey in GameInformer. The game was going to be a darker take on Mickey Mouse; too bad Disney made Junction Point dial that aesthetic back a lot. Also, my God does the Wii U version of Epic Mickey 2 suck.

I can't be the only one who thinks the original eShop music sounds like a long-lost Earthbound track. It sounds like the grocery store track. Or maybe the Hotel one...

Then again, this is me and I see Earthbound in MOST things...

I love their absolute horror at the framerate. Absolute horror is the only reaction to that. I don't know how that got past QA.
