I felt like the Yaiba guy was gonna split in half at any moment and Deadpool was gonna jump out and yell "SURPRISE".

Ninja Gaiden 3 was terrible, but Razor's Edge wasnt that bad. And objectively neither was Metroid Other M. And this isnt even being made by Team Ninja! (I still like DOA... ;(..)

I was REALLY hoping that the terrible script in this trailer wasn't representative of the game. Everything bad in this trailer seemed divorced from the gameplay.

The crass voiceover and the comic panel stuff was just a framing device created by the marketing team to court controversy, right?

I mean, the art direction is kinda great, the action looks fluid, but it won't actually sound like this, right?

This tone is entirely fabricated for the trailer, RIGHT?!?

And then a truck drives into a crotch of a giant pair of legs.

Goddammit. It's not even necessarily the tone itself that I have a problem with. The script is just super lazy, and delivered like a punchline from a Friedberg and Seltzer "comedy."

Man, I was totally excited when this game was first announced because I love it when the hero of a game is the antagonist in another game. Plus, I love this genre. The tone doesn't offend me; it's just stupid and doesn't seem to have anything lovable about it (like Juliet in Lollipop Chainsaw). Then the gameplay looks kind of crumby, too.

Will probably pass on this, which is a shame.

Yea exactly. It is SUPPOSED to be funny but it just isn't. I honestly didn't think anyone could make an even more unfunny version of a Suda 51 game but these guys managed it and and then seem to have taken out all the bat shit crazy stuff that makes some Suda 51 games bearable. After all of Inafune's talk about how bad Japanese developers are you'd think he wouldn't involve himself with something this awful looking.

...Maybe it'll be like Bulletstorm where the game isn't quite as terridumb as the marketing makes it out to be and will actually provide an (apparently) entertaining story? I say this as someone who hasn't played Bullestorm mind... Just going from what I've heard.

I'm just going to leave this here, as a reminder of what Ninja Gaiden's story used to be:

Bulletstorm was actually pretty good. Too bad the fucking worst advertising ever probably destroyed the whole franchise.

This trailer is worse than all those terrible old Bioware "new shit" trailers combined.

Now I can buy Dragon's Crown and not feel bad about it.
