I'm sad that not everyone loves the art style for this game.

Is Phantasy Star 2 worth playing, still? I've looked at it a few times but Old RPGs show their aged design.

Phantasy Star 2 is still a great old school JRPG but if you really want to try a game from the series then you should go with Phantasy Star 4,it´s the one that aged the best and it´s the best one in the series overall,though the shortest and easiest.

@arach666: Agreed, Phantasy Star IV really is the best of those games. I often compare it in my head to Chrono Trigger: both were late-gen releases, both were slightly overlooked compared to their predecessors (PSII) or contemporaries (FFVI), both were ahead of their time in a lot of ways, both had killer soundtracks...

Anyway, the art style for this gives me a slight Space Quest vibe. I swear I'm not crazy... play Space Quest V for a bit and you'll see it.

This game would be neat if we were living in 1994. What's with everyone doing this "retro" artstyle shit? This would've been just another game back then, but somehow it's amazing now. This hobby is getting sad.
