Wargame Construction Set III: Age of Rifles 1846-1905, written by Norm Koger and published by SSI, is the third title in the 'Wargame Construction Set' series that includes Wargame Construction Set (1986) and Wargame Construction Set II: Tanks! (1994).
Age of Rifles (AoR) is a hex-based, turn-based wargame with a robust editor that allowed users to recreate battles of the mid-19th century to the early 20th century when rifled firearms and breech-loading artillery became commonplace. The game shipped with several pre-made scenarios and campaigns from the era including the American Civil War, the Boxer Rebellion, the Russo-Japanese War, several colonial conflicts during the reign of Queen Victoria, the Franco-Prussian War and more.
