Kill Team: Party of one, Kill Team: Party of one?

Shoota Boys couldn’t stand a chance against these marines.

Starting off as a promotional tie-in to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Kill Team is a stand alone co-op based dual joystick action game. It's your job to get rid of all the Orkz, by any means necessary.

You are able to kill all Orkz by four means of veteran; The Sternguard Veteran, Tech Marine, Vanguard Veteran, and Librainan. Sternguards are the ranged class easiest for new players, Tech Marines are more mid to close range combat with their large servo arm and bolter combo, Vanguards are the basic soldier class being well off in each category, and finally Librarians re the heavy close combat specialists, carrying a power sword that take down foes in a single blow.

There really isn't much to the gameplay, what with being heavy on the destroy all Orkz focused. You move with the left stick and shoot with the right, having sprint on Left Trigger/L2 and gernades on Right Bumper/R1, only non-context sensitive button is the melee being on A/X. You pick up randomly dropped upgrades that increase shot output or a force field, but it still doesn't add to anything. Carrying a special attack, in each class, leads to a little overpowerment more often than not and leads again to saturation in the fun department.

The first loading screen tells of the exclusive power sword you unlock once finishing the opening level, and with that It already sets the bar low. I'm not knocking the quality just the quantity. There is six levels that you go through, doing the same thing over and over again. The missions last up to thirty minutes which can cause some players to get bored with not enough to do, and the collectibles don't really give a good initiative to collect them. The games supports local co-op, which in case and point, we got bored doing. Sad fact indeed.

It's a quick game that leads to hopefully a better game, and an in game item...It's alright. Pick it up for about 10 bucks, and maybe you'll enjoy it. I give it 3 Stikka Bombs out of 5.

Whilst initial thoughts surrounding THQ's Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team's announcement seemed that the game would serve very little outside of its tie-in to the upcoming Relic Third Person Shooter Space Marine, and given little fanfare outside of its unveiling (not even for its release) it would seem like the game was just set to meekly walk under the release radar - however, THQ have delivered a surprisingly addictive and satisfying dual stick shooter in Kill Team that works incredibly well for t...

Good introduction but missing something 0

KillTeam is an Xbox live arcade game published and released by THQ and the now disbanded THQ Warringon. KillTeam is based upon the highly popular table top Games Workshop game. Warhammer 40K was created by Rick Priestley and Andy Chambers in 1987. KillTeam is a duel stick shooting action game, if you have played the game Dead Nation on the PSN then you will know that the left analogue stick moves your space marine and the right one will shoot, I’ll get back to the controls later on in th...
