Any freezing with the 360 should be considered a bad thing and probably terminal... I hate to be the bearer of bad news but all the instances of freezing that i have experienced have ended with 3 red lights, ultimately.
IDK man, im just gonna say get it checked, i wouldnt just keep putting the disk in if you know its going to freeze, might furthur mess it up. This happened to me for crackdown when i first got it and I had to get my 360 fixed. Crackdown broke it :(
