I have a tiny 20GB HD still, and I'm looking to get a USB Stick to install some arcade games and maybe a few discs to. I was looking at PNY Attache III 16 gig model, but I don't really know anything about them, or what is fast or slow. Any recommendations?

Any USB stick will work

Well I know that they will all work, but I wondered if anyone had any experience with one stick working better than another.

It's been awhile since I've read it, but I seem to remember this quite extensive Digital Foundry article discussing the pros and cons of various USB stick brands and their compatibility with the 360.

I now recall that I have an external HD kicking around somewhere. Maybe I can plug that in and give it a go.

Just a warning: installing games on a stick on your 360 takes forever. I think the last one I did took around two hours.  I have one of those recommended Sandisk Cruzers.
Then I bough a 60GB 360 hdd for 20€.

You might get a message after the Xbox tests your USB stick saying it won't work well. Ignore this, because they're just trying to get you to buy their Xbox branded USB stick. I've played all through Dead Space on a USB stick that the Xbox said didn't meet the requirements and had no issues.
