I buy games for fun. Achievements are great but points are meaningless. Buy games you would play and try and get the achievements for them. Simple as that.
That being said, the Sega Megadrive Ultimate Collection practically gives you 1000 points. Its my only S-rank. All of Backbone's game ports have absurdly easy achievements. It was insulting.

Topic: I hear that CSI game is a guaranteed 1000. Also, Jeff used to makes videos called "Points!" on his blog - maybe check those out because I think he used to talk about games that have easy ones.
Do not be fooled by kids games...sometimes they are devious and require a lot more effort than you would expect...
the first lego indy and lego batman are very, very point happy the starwars complete saga takes a teeny bit more effort . viva pinata for some reaaaally easy 20 pointers... both assassins creed games are pretty good for getting 6-800ish easily in one playthrough and halo 3/odst are pretty good for points also

I know, but I think there are probably some good suggestions in there, especially with games that are probably dirt cheap now. Man, Points! needs to make a comeback, dammit. I'm not even obsessed with getting points, but those videos were pretty amusing.
@Six: around the time they started adding the expansions.... the achievements go clunk when you type them in but they just dont register that you have them/add points.... this can be seen by looking at how many points I have in the game... only 1100 out of 1500(ithink) ish.

i didn't update with live until after i entered the console commands, then i updated, and played with some more console commands to see weapons and armor and stuff.

Now, I've never considered myself to be a points whore, but immediately after reading that I went and downloaded it and got 190 points. And since I'm late to the party I will never get those last ten points for the multiplayer. Eff.
Jeff said in a recent bombcast that Backyard Football 10 can net you 1000 pts in less then an hour.
Eat Lead is some easy points. King Kong is also easy. Bully was pretty easy and also really enjoyable. The CSI games. Fuzion Frenzy 2. Sonics Ultimate Genesis Collection. Jumper: Griffins Story was an easy 1000. TMNT was also an easy 1000. Any of EA's early sports games. FIght Night Round 3, FIFA 06, and Madden 06 come to mind. Eragon. NFL Tour. Lost. WWE Legends of Wrestlemania. Any of the Scene It? games.

Its for locall multiplayer if you have a second controller just plug it in and i just played first player with a plugged in controller. Its really easy.
The Lost game was pretty easy, my 1st 1000 point game cause I got about 750 without trying, easy to get them all in a single go if you use a guide to find the photo locations.
Dude, really. Don't worry so much about points. Just play games you want to play. If you start boosting up your score by playing crappy games like Avatar, it's totally obvious, and also makes your point value seem much less impressive. If you want to compete with your friend, do it in multiplayer.

someone early on the thread said that you should simply focus on games you enjoy and try to get those, and I fully support that statement. This year I have started to go back through all my old games and to try and see how much I can complete them. I disagree that trophies/achievements are the worst innovation of the generation, they have brought a whole new incentive and value to game-playing. Back when I went to school, people used to boast about having completed Goldeneye on 00 agent, and you had no way to verify. These days your skills are there for all to see. As stated prevoiusly, if you have a tonne of games like Avatar, or King Kong, or Fight Night, showing off how 'great' you are, well, it shows just that. How did your friend get so far ahead of you? If it's from a dip in playing on your part, then you have nothing to make up. If it's from playing loads of easy games, then I wouldn't see the sense in stooping to that level, really.
