After hearing about a game called "Miner Dig Deeper," I downloaded it for only a buck and am obsessed with it. It's like Dig Dug with no enemies (unless you count the falling rocks). You dig for gems and ore to redeem them for money to upgrade your equipment so you can... dig deeper! I find it extremely addictive with a mix of relaxing and nerve-wracking moments. In fact, after ignoring the Indie XBL game service since it's introduction, this game has really opened my eyes to what I've been missing out. It's also amazing how affordable everything is: One to four bucks with a majority of the games being just a dollar. There are some cruddy games out there, but with a little research you'd be surprised at the quality of a lot of the titles.
I also downloaded:
Apple Jack: A colorful platformer where you pick up enemies to chuck 'em at others SMB 2 style in order to clear boards and progress throughout the game. $1
Cthulu Saves The World: a charming, funny, and well-produced Final Fantasy/Dragon Warrior style 16-Bit RPG. $3
Epic Dungeon: A rogue-like 8 bit RPG. $1
I MAED A GAM3 W1TH ZOMB1ES!!1: A twin-stick zombie shooter from the creator of Dishwasher: Dead Samurai (I think?). $1
So, has anyone checked out the service, played any of these games or have any suggestions on what I should download next?
Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is the second game console produced by Microsoft Corporation and is the successor to the original Xbox.
Has anyone tried any XBox Live Indie games?
I love Miner Dig Deep.
I've tried tons of them, most are total garbage, but there are a few real gems in there.
You want to give "Wizard's Keep" a try, it's kind of a Zelda clone from the same guy who made Miner Dig Deep. Also, if you're suffering from a lack of platformers in your life you might want to check out Arkedo Series 01 - Jump, Arkedo Series 03 - Pixel, and Oozi.
Played trials of a good amount of them. I've only ever bought one, though. Miner Dig Deep....best dollar ever spent.
The indie games channel is one of the most compelling reasons to own a 360. Seriously.
If you liked Cthulu Saves the World, check out Breath Of Death VII by the same guy. Great, and only 80 pts!
Other 80pt wonders: radiangames Ballistic, Decimation X3, Platformance: Castle Pain, retrofit Overload, Hypership Out of Control, Shoot 1up, The Impossible Game.
I had heard Cthulu Saves the World and Breath of Death were really good, haven't tried them out yet though.

Avatar Drop ftw! I think that's the only XBLI game I've bought, but I've played a lot of the demos. The problem is that you can basically get the whole experience of most of these games simply by playing the demos...and I feel kind of bad about that. Like I was tired of IMAGWZombiesII before I ever even got around to dishing out the 80 points for it. I definitely recommend downloading a bunch of indie demos though because you really never know what game you might end up having fun with. My g/f and I were playing the hell out of this terrible soccer demo...I have no idea what it was called, but there were no buttons, just two players an you run into the ball. It's kind of like pong if your pong paddle could move all over the screen....maybe more like Air Hockey. Still, we played that demo until the timer ran out anyway.
" I had heard Cthulu Saves the World and Breath of Death were really good, haven't tried them out yet though. "Definitely two of the better titles on XBLIG. I MAED A GAME WITH ZOMBIES is charming enough to be worth $1 as well.
You should check out Aban Hawkins & the 1000 Spikes, Nyan-Tech, and Protect me Knight. Protect me Knight's title isn't in english, so I'll just link it.
