What does everyone think to the new look? I wasn't into it at first but it's growing on me and I quite like it now, hopefully it'll run faster because of the simpler design.
We Europeans, or at least people in Scandinavia might get cheated on content, but at least we don't have ANY ads at all. It looks alright I guess, don't spend that much time at the dashboard for it to really matter.

Are ads really that big of a problem though? It's not like you can't find everything you need to. Sure the ads are a little annoying (as are all ads), but I've never had a problem with them.

I made a US account last summer so I could get in on some 1 vs. 100 when it was still running, and it wasn't that bad to be honest. It was a little overwhelming at first (coming from Scandinavia myself, and thus not having ads) but it settled quickly enough. I'd rather take ads and the full feature set than no ads and half the content for the same price.

Yep. I hate the new design. It is slow, and they try to hide ads within the panels, and it has been kind of "noobized". I would rather just have text with small icons rather than big posters and whatnot.

We are paying $50 a year for nothing other than matchmaking and watching Netflix without a disc. Oh yeah, and those Facebook and Twitter apps that we use so so much!
As for what I think about it; its alright. I didn't like how the depth thing made me have to look at the left all the time. Though I'm probably going to spend less time with my 360 now that I've built a semi-good gaming PC.

Except Canadians. We pay $50 for not Netflix, which is realistically the only thing I'd actually care for on XBL.

But I'd also have to dispute the term "ads". Perhaps certain countries do get something slightly more offensive, but on the dashboard I don't get any ads. The only things that may even remotely resemble ads are on the "What's New" channel, and even then only shows you new games that have been released and DLC, etc. There's no annoying products, they aren't placed all over the dashboard - just in that one channel and they are far from intrusive. Infact, I'd consider it news rather than adverts.

Same. Perticularly the guide button menu. It looks too...flat. But meh. Its only a menu. And I imagine its been designed with Kinect in mind more than anything, meaning the blocks will be larger and more clear and stuff. Im more intrigued by a story I read a while back about the new marketplace, recommending titles and being more slick overall. That looked like a good upgrade.

I have seen it (from screenshots) and I can say that the ads are still there, but the presentation of everything is much more aesthetically pleasing, which is a relief for myself - as someone who hates ads and is a major design nut. I think I read somewhere that the menus load quicker.. I hope so.
Buy yeah, advertisements on a premium service is not cool, like @sofacitysweetheart said.
I don't mind the ads but they do sometimes get annoying cause the dashboard is overrun by them. Also, this new 360 dashboard looks about the same, just a more mature version of it.
