What are your thoughts on MS unshakable stance on keeping their current stance on requiring Indie developers to reach out to Microsoft or a third-party publisher to put their games on X-Box Live Arcade? There is an interesting article in this month's Game Informer interviewing prominent Indie Game developers and their stance on working with Microsoft. It isn't good, and most seem to be jumping ship to PS4 and Nintendo. I think this is a bigger issue than the used games and the always-on arguments. Your thoughts?

Also there wont be an Indie section anymore as well. Indy developer will not support this bullshit at all. If you want indy games better have a PC a PS4 or even for some a Wii U.

I don't really know what else to say - horrible policy.

Microsoft have made some poor early decisions with the Xbox One, but this one is baffling to me. Hell, Indie and XBLA games were key to Microsoft's early success.

Hey good on them for getting out there and alienating the enthusiast crowd early. Why bother beating around the bush?

Microsoft has made me very happy with all these policies and their presentation yesterday because it has cemented my stance on having a Wii U, PS4 and PC for the upcoming generation.

It is really telling If Nintendo's is "bashing" Microsoft XD

One might think I'd be glad Xbox won't allow indies to self-publish. It's actually a big negative, as indies need more exposure. #growthepie

I doubt this matters to the masses. Money is money. They can put their games out on the PS4 and Steam but if there is still money to be made by putting it on the Xbox One, they will.

It's funny because he used to work at Microsoft and helped with starting up XBLA.

    From his LinkedIn:

    Strategic Planning:

    • Launch team for Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) on Xbox 1
    • Created and managed strategy for Premium Downloadable Content via Xbox Live

    Contract Negotiations:

    • Negotiated dozens of multi-million dollar contracts with multiple third party publishers for Xbox content
