When Yar's Revenge was released in May of 1982, it came with a little comic book describing the game's story.  I recently scanned and uploaded my copy of the comic to Google docs, and you guys can view/download it here:

    Enjoy!

    Awesome :D

Would've been cool if they explained why the Qotile were their enemy though...

That's what makes the story so deep and thought provoking. Why did these mysterious aliens come and destroy one of the Yars planets for seemingly no reason? The world may never know.   :P

    That was pretty awesome.

"It's too late to.....AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!" and then somehow the flies survive, haha. Was it common for Atari games to come with this much backstory to their games?

At the very least, now I might actually be able to beat Yars Revenge on my Atari Joystick. I could never figure out how to blow up the Qotile dude.

You just posted the link is all.  They want just a little bit of original text/thought/conversation starter to go into it also instead of just 'link' 'discuss.'

Yeah, I guess that makes sense.  I'm looking into some stuff to do to make these scans more informative, instead of just posting links.
