    Overview

Yukio Futatsugi is a Japanese game designer/producer who is best known for his work on the Panzer Dragoon franchise. Yukio studied Computer Science at Tsukuba University, after completing the course he got his start in the industry participating on a game design course with Sega. He worked for many years with Sega as the leader of the Team Andromeda group who worked almost exclusively on the Panzer Dragoon series. He is also the creator of Phantom Dust and participated in an exlusive feature with 1up.com where he blogged about the game weekly leading up to its release. He is also the producer for Ring of Red. The last game that Yukio worked on with Sega was Panzer Dragoon Saga, a game that was marred by the unfortunate deaths of two members of the team with one employee committing suicide during the development of the game. After the game was released to little commercial success (but high critical praise), Yukio Futasugi left Sega and joined Microsoft Game Studios Japan.

The first game he worked on with Microsoft Game Studios was Blue Dragon; Microsofts attempt at an Xbox exclusive JRPG worked-on by many big name Japanese developers. After the release of Lost Odyssey for the Xbox 360, Futasugi joined Mineko Okamura 's company Grounding Inc as one of the heads of the studio. At Tokyo Game Show 2011 the next game that Futatsugi is directing was announced as Project Draco, a Kinect game where you ride on the back of a dragon.
