    Picked up my copy of the Collector's Edition of Alan Wake today. I have to say the presentation and content is great for only twenty extra dollars. You can see more here. Anyone else pick this or the standard edition up today?

    1. I enjoyed the Limited Edition already. There are a bunch of extra contents, the free DLC and Avatar items are nice. The Soundtrack so far is fantastic for this game. for an extra $20 i love it.

    @Jeust: I wasn't even aware there was a CE for Alan Wake.  What all does it come with?  The presentation is damn nice.

    There is. It brings: the game, a fictious book written by a character, the soundtrack, and a dvd of bonuses, like avatar clothing, themes, commentaries on the game, trailers, and a token to get the first dlc free (which is also included in any Alan Wake game bought), and  a bunch of other stuff, all in a cover that seems like the one of a book. it's very nice.

    I'm waiting for this to arrive.  Looks like a pretty solid Limited edition, with nothing too worthless thrown in for the hell of it.

    I got the SE because I wanted to be able to play it on my day off and Wal-mart is the ONLY place that is open when I get off of work at 7:00 a.m.  I really need that book!  Argh!!!

    I was seriously considering this Collector's Edition, until Amazon dropped the price on the standard game to $49.99 today while continuing to offer the free $10 credit that they were giving to people who pre-ordered. For $20 extra this CE seems like a good value, but I don't know if I can justify it for $40 more than standard price.

    Picked up the game last Friday (EU), got the LCE too, and it's pretty nice. I was lucky to have the option of only adding a few euros to upgrade to it, and I was like "why not".
     
    What a deal. Might post some detailed pics too if I have the time.

    Gamestop had a pretty good deal about a month ago for the CE. $20 off an order more than $80.

    @h0lgr i think my $20 went to the book, and Soundtrack. Which is so worth it. The book is really answering some questions i've been askin. Can't wait to finishe it.

    I mostly don't care about these Limited/Special/Collector's etc., but this CE i'd really like to own.
    Most CEs are way too pompous; Inane finery so that the company can make an extra buck (i'm looking at you, God of War 3... and many others!). 
    This one really adds something to the whole experience.
    Neat, really neat. 
    Still, i'll pick up the standard version as i'm used to. 
    Enjoy the game!

    That Free DLC code is in every copy of the game so if you buy it new it will come with it. For Free. The extra $20 is for the book, bonus disk, soundtrack, and the case that looks like a book.

     How am I supposed to get the avatar award? It said to just play the bonus disc, but it didn't unlock for me. Do I need to watch everything on it or something?

    You need to install the developers commentary that is on the bonus disc, then put in the game disc. Go to extras, or maybe it's options, and then select the commentary and turn it on. It should unlock then.
