Apocalypse was born in Egypt 5000 years ago, making him one of the oldest mutants on earth.

As "En Sabah Nur", which means the "first", Apocalypse traveled the world for thousands of years causing wars to find out which nation was the strongest. Ancient civilizations worshiped him as a god. In the 20th century he took up the name of Apocalypse after deciding that mutants, as superior beings, were chosen to take place over the "weak" humans. Though mutants from teams like X-FACTOR and the X-MEN fought Apocalypse to ensure peaceful relationships between humans and mutants, he continues to prove a formidable foe and instigator of worldwide conflict.
