What game deserves a dark movie reboot? Let's have some fun!

So I recently just rewatched the Christopher Nolan Batman movies and how dark it was, and how serious it took the batman role. I watched the second movie where Heath Ledger gave a performance of a lifetime, and I thought. What game would it be most impressive to see a serious dark reboot? Or Cartoons, etc. What franchise could you see getting a dark remake?!

Here's my wish. A Mario Bro's remake where Mario is a depressed plumber who battles his inner demons every day (Like Schwarzenegger on End of Days). His brother Luigi, suffers from a drug addiction, but they have to fight Koopa or something together. I know this is weird, but I think this could be awesome. Maybe Koopa is a drug king pin who has lured the Princess into his "castle." And Mario and Luigi have to put away their inner demons and they have to go to war. Maybe Toad is a friendly dealer of certain things and he comes clean to help out? Who knows?!

What's your video game character who could be rebooted into a dark franchise? Either it is dark or just needs the dark reboot like my weird Mario fantasy. LOL. Let's see what creative ideas for dark movies we can come up with!

More seriously, give me a dark movie version of my last attempt to play Cities: Skylines where the mayor is completely inept and lets half the town burn and get vandalized while he watches TV then pollutes the drinking water with literal shit on accident making the fact that there are no hospitals even more unfortunate.

There was already a dark and edgy Mario movie. I think a funnier thing to do would be to take a dark and edgy video game and turn it into a light-hearted romp. Something like Kane and Lynch would work. I know there was a K&L film that was supposed to happen. Silent Hill and Condemned would also work.

Metroid. The metroid manga is basically Batman in space.

The TLOU wiki page mentions that Naughty Dog at some point considered doing a "realistic" reboot of Jak and Daxter. I don't think that could ever work as intended, but it does sound kinda hilarious.

Not so sure we saw the same Mario movie. That movie was farcical which is the opposite of dark and edgy.

Ape Escape. It'll basically be "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" but with time travel.
