He started his career in game programming with Atari Games Inc., where he worked on the arcade game Crystal Castles. He then moved to Tengen, where he was a programmer for both Ms. Pac-Man and Toobin' on the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Lanzinger founded Bitmasters in 1990, where he designed games including Rampart , Championship Pool , and NCAA Final Four Basketball for the Sega Genesis. He served as the company's President from 1990 until 1995. Lanzinger is currently the Chairman of Actual Entertainment. Also, from July 2008 to November 2009 he developed code for 3d Satellite simulations for Space Systems/Loral.
