Toews is currently the youngest captain in the NHL. He was drafted third overall in 2006 and was named captain two years later at the age of 20, making him the third youngest captain of all time. He had his best season in 2010 winning gold in the 2010 Winter Olympics for Team Canada, where he was named best forward. He also won the 2010 Stanley Cup Championship and was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy (MVP of the playoffs). This made him the youngest player to ever join the Triple Gold Club. This all led to him being the cover athlete for NHL 11.
