OK, so the Jeff/Yoshi video is perfect and hilarious for all the right reasons and the best possible payoff to a nearly week-long joke, but there is something that confuses me: during the previous AGDQ, there was a successful bid to rename Robo as "RyanD" during the finale Chrono Trigger run. When this was announced the audience applauded. So, presumably that crowd knew who Ryan was but this crowd doesn't know who Jeff is? Just seems weird to me because I had imagined that the same people would be watching and participating in the two events.
Anyway, "go Jerstman!"
Not to take undeserved credit, but I was the first to clap when RyanD's name was called at AGDQ and I want to believe I spurred the rest of the audience to follow suit. SGDQ is a bit far for me to attend as a mere spectator, but I did donate for Gerstman. I tried to attach a .8 to my donation, but it blocked it. I did see other donations with non-whole dollar totals, so maybe if I had put .80 instead of .8 it would've worked. Trihex's comment would've been extra hilarious if the final donation total had ended up XXX8.8
14130 rupees, 2 deaths. My first death was from the fire breathing dudes when I went over there after completing the tower. I was still pleasantly surprised to see that sort of thing can happen still in a Zelda game. Second death was in the same general area in Lorule when I tried to do the second level of the treacherous tower while being unprepared. Thought I had a fairy, but nope.
My 3DS clock says that my time played was 15:15. Seems a little short, but I missed two whole heart containers and they were 15 hours I enjoyed, so whatever. I did feel that the game had a good level of challenge but got progressively easier after completing the first Lorule dungeon (Turtle Rock for me). I might go back and give hero mode a shot at some point.
Fuck, I don't think I've ever been this sad about the death of someone I never met. Too young. Thanks for keeping me entertained during countless hours of work or driving.
