I can see a world where they made a more interesting open world but what they've done here is kinda pointless. It's far from the worst thing in the game, but it seems to have been a waste of time on their part.
this game is incredibly buggy,for every bug they patch out they seem to create another. im currently at chapter 6 or 7 and ive had to stop multiple times for them to fix a bug they stopped me from progressing and im currently not playing due a bug that keeps crippling my game, otherwise its a mostly fun game.
I honestly think Kratos is irredeemable and pretty shitty for all the things hes done and i honestly couldn't care less about him anymore, that being said i'm honestly very interested in the story this new GoW is going to tell.
I honestly had no interest in this game as i really disliked kratos and had no interest in playing a game as him again, and after reading some of the reviews the only one that actually convinced me to play this game was patrick klepek's review.
I was pretty on par level wise for what i was fighting most of the game and had a pretty easy time, i could even fight red named enemies, but towards the end i gave up on leveling and just went to the end game, at that point the final boss was about 12 lvls higher than me, i used a couple healing items throughout and the fight took a little while but, all in all it wasn't that hard of a fight. Although the purple monsters are rough if your not at least close to their lvl (orange names). The field battles were pretty easy to, i was doing lvl 55 missions with guys barely or just under lvl 30.
i got it and i'm having an alright time with it, the first mystery made me not want to do that mystery ever again because it sucked so much. The games a little dry, as apposed to what the dev's said each game plays out basically the same regardless, people keep comparing it to cities skylines, but cities feels a lot better than this and i'm a little bummed out. otherwise i'll keep at it for a little while more, and hope i like it more.
My first victory was also Blitzkrieg. My primary problem was dealing with defensive mission like defend the train or bombs etc. so I just stopped picking those mission and had a much more present time. They are also all about moving the enemies into a chain, so I always got the building immunity for the chain whip. I also had a cross shaped smoke cloud launcher by luck for the harder to reach guys. i also didn't care if my other mechs received lightning damage either as I usually make sure to get +2 health when using them.
