Fantastic episode this week. Jeff B fit right in as we all knew he would. Great energy and fun conversations. I was putting off picking up RE8 till the fall when I enjoy playing horror games the most, but now I think I'll grab it this weekend.

Regarding the length of RE:Village, I'm almost positive that the "Completed Time" at the end of the game does not include cutscenes or death/checkpoint restarts. So even though the game says that Danny finished it in about 8 1/2 hours, it is likely that it took him closer to 10-11. I watched a streamer play it in about 14 hours, and it said his completed time was about 10 1/2 hours.

This is a strong lineup!

I'm sure Jeff B has had plenty of work related calls with the West coast crew, but he really fits in well to the podcast.

Whatever the new site / concept / podcast will look like maybe think about giving women a chance. Right now we’re at 100% male again and I think that would be an opportunity. Because no offense but there are enough Gaming Dudes already maybe.

Abby got a lot of hate here and I hope that doesn’t stop you from exploring the options. Just my 2 cents.

I, too, am using an office chair taken from my mom's office. Granted, it was like 9 years ago, but still. They were downsizing, and had a bunch of extra chairs to get rid of, so we took a couple. And then a few years later my mom was let go due to more downsizing even though she'd been there for like 15 years, so fuck 'em, we took more chairs and some laptops.

Wait... is this secretly a continuation of the A Bunch of Dads podcast?

I understand why some people lump RE 5 and 6 together (they're both action heavy games), but I don't think they understand how much worse 6 is on every level, including the basic shooting and movement.

The Epic v. Apple thing is fascinating, though I am already so tired of the "lol CYBERPUNK FUTURE am i right" hot takes that come up every single time, especially in anonymous discourse. It's worth mentioning that apple is a multi-trillion dollar company, as in, you as a single person are closer in wealth to Epic than Epic is to Apple. Apple could crush Epic underfoot here, and not even notice it. Apple coming away from this unscathed is just a tighter grip on their market, whereas Epic getting at least some concessions opens things up more.

I hefty meal of a podcast.

@octaslash: I'm one of the few that actually thinks RE6 is great so I can't disagree with this more. The gameplay in that game is really solid (a bit to heavy on the qte's though, but that seems to vary wildly with the RE series), it's a shame they don't have all the basic controls/buttom combos in-game. You either learn them on accident or by looking them up.

RE6 is a real good game with a real stupid story and you can say that about most of the series. It just felt like a natural evolution that spawned with the more action orientated RE4 too. I'm not a fan of the first person stuff from 7 and 8 and hope they can go back to third person after that trilogy(?) will wrap up.

@octaslash: I actually don't understand why people group 5 and 6 together. In my head I group 4 and 5 together. They both had similar gameplay, it's just RE5 is to RE4 like RE3 is to RE2. RE5 and RE3 are the follow up sequel that is similar to the resounding success of the prior game that doesn't quite live up to it but it still pretty cool and adds a fun gameplay element.

RE6 is an entirely different beast. The character movement is so different in RE6 compared to 4 and 5. (It feels like you're floating instead of on the ground.) The atmosphere is completely different. It's RE6 and Umbrella Corps that should be paired together IMO. At least... that's how they are in my head because it felt like those two controlled more similarly to each other and were not like 4 and 5. But at the same time I didn't play much of RE6 and Umbrella Corps (whereas I beat 4 and 5) because they both just seemed bad.
