Dark Souls Determined to Break Your Soul and Sanity in October

Good luck with this one, friends.

Demon's Souls was one of the most surprising--and easily the most difficult--releases in 2009. From Software is wasting no time with a sequel--er, spiritual successor. Dark Souls has been described as more or less an unofficial sequel to Demon's Souls, which mean only the most hardcore should apply here.

When will you have a chance to play Dark Souls? The answer is October. October something something. There's no specific date yet but the same month of Halloween is fitting. One can begin preparation...now.

As for me, I vastly prefer watching other people suffer through these games. This shall be no different.

Yes indeed, it was so hard trying to resist buying a ps3 just to play this amazing game.
(Note: I have nothing against ps3 I just don't want 2 consoles)

It was hard, if you tried playing it like a regular action RPG, as long as you take your time and don't go ramboing all around then yes, it isn't that hard at all.

But it also depends on what you went for, if you went for magic then yes, it's basically the very easy mode of the game, I went for pure melee, didn't called for a single blue phantom, so yeah, it was pretty challenging.

Apparently everyone who preorders Dark Souls will be upgraded to the Collector's Edition for free.  One of the goodies that comes with it is a strategy guide.  If it's like the one I received with my Demon's Souls CE, it'll cover the entire game.  source

That said, Demon's Souls price fell through the floor not long after launch.  Amazon is selling it new for $20 and $12 used.  If you can wait (I don't think I can), you can save yourself $30-$40.

I didn't have a problem with Demon's Souls difficulty.
It was just boring as fuck.
And had a poorly balanced leveling system.
